LB John Simon - (2012 B1G DPOY, Super Bowl Champ)

I thought there was a conspicuous absence from the honoring of the Seniors at the basketball game yesterday, but I didn't think anything of it. Figured he would probably rather watch film or lift weights lol. Really hope he can contribute today. One of my top 5 favorite Buckeyes of all-time.

I can't think of a reason why, though, he wouldn't have attended either the captain's dinner or the bball game. Have to think if he were definitively out, he would have been there rather than somewhere resting or getting treatment.

If his leg was in a brace, I can understand him not wanting to attend the bball game and the captain's dinner as it would have tipped Urban's hand and let everyone know about his injury. Even if he doesn't contribute, John deserves to play today. What a shame if he cannot.

All I keep thinking is Bobby Carpenter 2005. Heartbreaking isn't the right word. Gut wrenching doesn't describe it. The degree of grief one feels for missing their last game as a senior just can't be properly described in a single word.

John is a warrior and I truly believe his focus right now is trying to do whatever he can to get himself ready. That's just how he rolls. His tenacious approach to the game of football is the stuff of legends. Prayers to you for a quick recovery JS!

I also was looking for him last night and didn't see him. I figured I just didn't notice him out there. Shit.

Saying anything conclusive about his playing time is impossible without knowing the nature and extent of the injury. With that said, I'm glad it happened a week ago and not yesterday. While Spence et al. can't be compared to Simon, they are talented players in their own right and surely benefited from getting the reps this week. I hope John sees plenty of time today, but if not, I'm sure his replacements are prepared and will do their 1/11th. Excellent big game experience for the youngsters too.

No worries. No sick feelings in your stomachs. Just relentless energy and a deafening stadium. Beat these fools. Beat them bad.

:oh::oh:
