Despite being the same age as John, he will go down as my favorite Buckeye next to Katzenmoyer. He is a Legend here and will never be forgotten. I haven't seen someone be the Heart & Soul of a team here quite like he was.

I'm going to be sad that I'll never be able to see him wear the Scarlet and Gray again.

  3. When they look at past great seasons, there's always one or two names that fans will associate with that season. John Simon will be the first name associated with this 2012 undefeated squad. Thank you for all you have done for this university! :osu:

Compared to some of the others from that class that didn't make it, and knowing what JS has contributed over the last few years, this thread tells a story that is as good as it gets...

What a hell of a game he chose to go out on, against Wisconsin. One for the ages.

    Buckeye Nation will miss you.

John Simon along with this senior class is the bar for what it is to be a true Buckeye.

  9. I don't think it was his choice for that to be his last game. I think it was his knee's choice. If it was a torn pectoral muscle I am sure he would be in that game, but a knee injury is a little different.

This situation is very similar to The Game a few years back when Bobby Carpenter got injured on the first play and a young Laurinaitis was thrust into the spotlight. Hopefully it will payoff for Washington like it did for James.

Really like Jim Tressel comments Tuesday evening about how you walk into John Simon's house (in Youngstown) and there's a weight room (not a TV or a sofa).
