Do you think that ESPN might want to come to Columbus for the Texas game?

Corso and Herby's released their 2005 Top 5. Both had 1.)USC 2.)tOSU 3.)Texas. The Texas game will be HUGE next year. I'm booking my flight this week. Go Bucks.

As much I am looking forward to next season and no matter how much I think we'll have improved by the season kickoff, I don't see us as the second best team in the country at the beginning. Now, the way Tressel always has his teams improving throughout the season, I can see us as good as anyone come mid-November, but not in early September.

ESPN has some serious ass-kissing to do between now and next September if they want a respectful reception IF they come here.

If things don't get better I still would love to see a silent protest behind them. No signs, no yelling, not a peep. Hell, maybe just tell people to avoid it all together and ask the Texas fans to respect our wishes. They know and love football and would probably be willing to stay away. I don't know what would look better? A background of fans standing there silently with their arms folded or not a soul in the background.

let em come... the way i see it they have two choices.. 1) praise ohio state and in the process of this show everyone how two faced they are or 2) well i just dont think they have enough security to keep them from being run out of town.

the ND v scUM game is the same weekend, they could always go to that one. This whole thing is kind of a catch22. Personally I would gain so much joy from telling those bastards to fuck off and die, but at some point there needs to be an effort made to repair the relationship, and I would guess that is the rd that the new AD will take.

I still say as a united front we go, and then turn our backs.

That relationship is beyond repair.

They went on a witchhunt and, along with their accomplice Troy Smith, they have destroyed the national image of Ohio State.

ESPN would be very foolish to set foot in Columbus.

Anybody that thinks espn is going to kiss our ass to make up for any of this is delusional. No way do they admit they were wrong, even if it comes out clear as a bell that they're full of shit. The story will just die off, with no mention of it from those bastards.

I say fuck 'em. I wouldn't let them back on campus.

ESPN is planning on coming...Herbstreit used the phrase "we'll be in Columbus for that game then it looks like 3 weeks in the SEC and ACC" or something like that...

If they aren't allowed to come to campus they'll just set up on some private property on Lane Ave most likely...ESPN isn't going to give up their ratings very easily, and I imagine there is some arm twisting that ABC can help out with if Holbrook turns them down

Good point about KH..I doubt she would want them on campus for such a debacle. I guess if I were her I would not...especially if idiots like me are planning to come and act like an idiot.

I think the only other arm twisting is Jim Delaney and he is a significant AG supporter and vice versa...although only due to economics. tOSU football wags AG thus AG wags Jim Delaney. Either way, the students won't forget. I would wager a private site/set somewhere.

This is the Holbrook era my friend, I imagine a brigade of police officers arresting anyone who throws anything and charging them with assault

I don't think Holbrook would like a riot scene shown on local or national tv. Lets face it. Any type of riot or police arresting students/fans would make news.

I could see it now. Game Day Set put on fire by crazed Ohio State fans. Drunken/crazed fans attacked ESPiN crew throwing bottles, bricks and other items disrupting broadcast. Columbus police with State Highway Patrol assistance tried to secure the set before it was torched. The situation went from bad to worse with the Governor calling out the National Guard (forgetting it was in Iraq). There just was not enough police as drunken party goes from Hineygate were inflamed by the police action and aided their fellow drunken fans. Some fans went on a rampage resulting in the game being called as the situation around the stadium got out of control. Last reports were that drunken/crazed fans were in negotiations with local authorities for the release of fellow fans as they held Game Day crew hostage. Fans report they will behead Corso if demands not met, with hourly be headings until demands met or they run out of beer and other refreshments.

After thinking about this for a while and reading others opinions I would think that there is no way in hell that gameday could broadcast from campus, or anywhere else if they made it known before hand. There would be too much danger in it for the espin crew and the guys from gameday. The only way I see it going down is if they broadcast from within WHAC and have plain white vans outside. It is sad that it has come to this. I would love to see Buckeyes rise obove this, but I don't blame anyone who is absolutely livid over all the bullshit that ESPN has done.

On a related side note, am I the only one who has watched the villan in this turn from completely MoC to almost entirely ESPiN???

ESPN is surely giving OSU a raw deal, but do you really want to turn down all that exposure and cash? By the Texas game, ESPN will have moved on, Tressel will still be coaching, and this BS will have blown over. Don't you guys want maximum exposure for your program, especially if you beat the team that just beat us?
