Dominique Brown (Louisville signee)

Yeah but if you look at previous posts, it shows that Louisville IS recruiting him as a QB. That is exactly how they landed Michael Bush in the first place, even though OSU was recruiting him as a RB. You tell the kid what they want to hear to get them in the door, and then shortly after you move them to another position. I'm glad Tressel is open with recruits and lets them know that they can have a shot at the position of thier choice, but if it doesnt work out that they could be moved to a different position.
I understand they are recruiting him as a QB, I'm just saying it's very possible he goes there even if they were just recruiting him as an athelte because Strong is a very good recruiter.

Sorry to jerk this thread around, but I'm now told that it is NOW official... Wanted to go home and talk to coach first and has...

Good luck at Louisville Dom...

Not sure the QB thing was the deciding factor, but he at least wanted to hear it...

He has confused the heck out me too. But the guy from the Cincy newspaper quoted saying, he is back to a verbal to UL and recruited as a "QB."

Cincy Enquirer post:

Brown commits to Louisville Posted by mdyer February 1st, 2010, 11:27 am

Winton Woods senior QB Dominique Brown has orally committed to Louisville, according to Winton Woods coach Troy Everhart.
Brown orally committed to the Cardinals as a quarterback, Everhart said.
Brown, the Division II state offensive co-player of the year, helped lead the Warriors to a Division II state title in December.
Brown threw for 723 yards and seven touchdowns. He rushed for 1,998 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Brown had orally committed to UC last year, but considered his options after Brian Kelly left for Notre Dame in December.

Best of luck to him!

Some people on various boards seem to be up in arms over the fact that the coaching staff let this one get away. I don't think that's fair. I think it was more of a case that the staff knew there was a very limited number of spots left (likely 2) and that they wanted to keep those spots available for guys to play on the O Line, given that that is by far our greatest need for rounding out this class. If this were August, and we had a dozen or so spots open still, then yeah, I'd be upset that we didn't push harder for him. But given the situation, I'm okay with the slow play.

Also, I think Dominique made a great choice with Louisville. I know he wants to play QB, but if he does end up getting moved to the defensive side of the ball, he'll be in extremely capable hands. Nobody can question Strong's record of developing defensive talent. Nothing against Cincinnati, I'll always root for the in-state teams, but I think Brown's chances of playing on Sundays go up if he plays Safety for Strong.

Scout $ - Dominique Brown talks Louisville
By Mike Hughes
Posted Jan 20, 2010

Louisville coaches attended on of Browns b-ball games and talked him up afterwards this week... They're recruiting him as a QB and trying to set up an OV within the next few weeks... Browns says he doesn't want to redshirt and he's back to saying that the top factor in his decision will be the chance to play QB...
Anyone else remember this kid? He didn't want to go to Ohio State because the Buckeyes wouldn't let him play QB.

Brown went to Louisville instead, but he did not play QB there. He was a running back from day one, as most of us suspected.

Brown was not selected in the 2015 NFL draft.
