Donald Sterling and his comments

This is now crossing into the "entertainment" area for me.

The sale of the team may be a "done deal", but unfortunately this could be another "Never Ending Story"...Sterling even looks like one of the characters in the movie:

His lawsuit against the NBA will go on forever. at least until he dies. Sterling is a lawyer and billionaire lawyers like him do not like to lose. and if they do they want to get even. He feels he was wronged (see his "manifesto" in Bucky32's post) and he definitely has the financial resources to take it all they way to the US Supreme Court on appeals. The sad thing is that he may actually have a good legal argument here, and if he lives long enough might just get a judgement against the NBA. And needless to say, anything is possible with the judicial/legal system we have in this country.

The NBA, meanwhile, has filed a counterclaim in federal court against Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust, saying he caused "devastating and incalculable harm" to the league. The counterclaim was in response to an antitrust lawsuit Sterling filed in June against the NBA and commissioner Adam Silver seeking $1 billion in damages.

I guess this is rather dated news, but I just heard about it today. Of all the idiotic PC things said and done over this entire mess, UCLA wins the grand prize.

That's right, too bad if you suffer from kidney disease. The university administration's need to self-congratulate themselves for being sensitive to race and diversity is more important than any breakthroughs in medical research and treatment.

I think UCLA's concern was that Sterling would call back in a few weeks and demand his money back.
