I never said that homosexual is a derogatory term, as I know its not....The title of the thread before it was edited said "Doogie Howser is a Homo".

I said that the term homo was in fact a derogatory statement, and was uncalled for.

I can't imagine why anyone would adopt a gay lifestyle. I just don't understand it. I believe it is wrong based on my religious beliefs but I also believe that the religion I choose to live by sets rules for me and that I have no right to proscribe those rules to others. No more of a right than the Islamic fundamentalists whose actions I abhor.

It just seems to me that if one takes the position that homosexuality is wrong because it is forbidden in any major religion then, by judging gays or acting out against them, one goes against the very religion one claims to profess.

Maybe I am incredibly wrong, but I don't think so.

Geez, having made that post, I then saw your post. Guys, personally, I don't think any apology was necessary or that TheStoicPaisano had any ill-intent.

This is just one of those topics that some folks are sensitive about. I think Clarity has set a pretty good vision for this kind of thing. BP strikes a balance between being sensitive to peoples' sensitivities and being so politically-correct that people don't feel like they can fart while online.
