First I am not a Cooper fan, merely thought this was interesting:

LoKyBuckeye I give up. This board is too hard to understand.

Cooper could always recruit, he just couldn't coach.

now mac brown gets the great recruiter award... too bad you're not done after they sign their LOI...

His record against top ranked opponents wasn't that much better than against UM. Getting talent is one thing, knowing what to do with it is another.

I love the quote regarding not missing the academics. There is an oxymoron in there somewhere.

John Cooper was a very good recruiter and a good man who has handled his firing with a lot of class. I have nothing but respect for John Cooper.

I hope that someday 'ol Coop feels that he can come back to campus and be a part of it all again, like Earle Bruce finally did.

I didn't like his coaching or discipline methods, but he certainly kept OSU well stocked with his recruiting.

It's kinda funny- if he could have beaten michigan a good percentage of the time, and won some bowl games (likely a championship bowl game...), he would be sitting at the right hand of Woody right now.
