Drake "LLLL" Harris (ttun WR; transfer to Western Michigan)

The view from West Michigan

The Grand Rapids sports radio station (96.1) afternoon drive guy talked about this for at least 20 minutes yesterday (that's how long I listened). His take was that a kid who had the option would be a fool to not visit and consider "the prettiest girl in the conference". He pointed out that Ohio State is the only team in the B1G for whom the conference title is not enough. He further pointed out that Wisconsin's run of 3 consecutive Rose Bowls is great for them and is something to shoot for from a Spartan or Wolverine perspective, but that it would not be considered enough in Columbus. As he is a Spartan, he took pains to point out that the Wolverines haven't even shared a conference title since 2004, and that Sun and Blue is no closer to the Buckeyes' resume than is Green and White. For what it's worth, most of his callers and e-mailers agreed with him.

Drake Harris center of attention at Michigan State game
By Matt Charboneau
The Detroit News

East Lansing ? Saturday was a big recruiting day for Michigan State's football team and one player had more attention than most during Michigan State's 59-56 victory over Ohio State at Breslin Center.

Drake Harris, a junior at Grand Rapids Christian, sat front and center and watched most of the game sitting near Damion Terry and Jon Reschke, two of Michigan State's top commitments for the 2013 class.

Harris, rated as the top receiver in the country for 2014 by ESPN.com, is committed to Michigan State but said early in the week he was going to take more visits after he received an offer from Ohio State and decided to focus only on football and not play basketball in college.

At halftime, Harris walked with football coach Mark Dantonio to the tunnel as the Izzone cheered him every step of the way.

Harris said he plans to visit Ohio State and Florida and could add others, though he has also said he remains committed to Michigan State.

@AllenTrieu #OhioState, #Tennessee and #Florida all coming to Grand Rapids Christian tomorrow for 2014 WR Drake Harris

Garnering a lot of national attention now. Going to be real tough for Sparty to keep a hold of this one if things continue the way they're going. Really like how the staff is pressing hard for him.
