Drew Richmond (OL Tennessee Volunteers, transfer to ???)

THE OPENING: DREW RICHMOND
September 9 is when Drew Richmond lost a close friend in the past and he will remember him on that date in 2014 when he announce his college choice.

Only a handful of schools remain in play for the Scout 300 offensive tackle and those are Alabama, Memphis, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and UCLA.

He will be ready in less than two months to make his decision.

"That day is special to me, so I have had September 9 picked out for a while," said Richmond. "I have a school in mind, but I am not completely sure yet.

"I have visited all the schools I am considering besides North Carolina and I plan to visit there soon. I just have to think about things some more, keep looking at the options, and make sure of my school by September 9."

The four-star on Scout was not ready to drop any hints about the school that may be standing out most in his mind.

When asked about that, Richmond said, "I like them all. They are all great schools and my visits to those schools were great."

Playing time and relationships with the coaches are a big part of Richmond's decision. He has an idea of the school he will choose on September 9 now, but he will know for sure when that day arrives.

"Oh yeah, I will be ready," he said. "I know I am committing that day. I do not see any way I could change that. I will know then for sure."

The 6-foot-5, 320 pound senior out of Memphis (Tenn.) University is the No. 12 offensive tackle on Scout.

Well, if it was good enough for Derrick Rose....

The basketball team is basically the pro team in Memphis, the football team is next to nonexistent. I lived in Memphis for a few months, and most people don't even realize that Memphis has a football team. They claim deangelo Williams but no one saw him play. I went to a game and they made Illinois look like they had a packed house.

Alabama. Ole Miss. Tennessee.

Gonna be very difficult to compete with that list of SEC schools. The reason is not a particularly well-guarded secret.

agreed 100% and the reason for my comment. oh well ill just head over to the reds official thread and sling some poo at anyone in my path.....

This is the kind of comment that makes fans of other conferences snicker. Nothing but sour grapes.

Is there dirty recruiting in the SEC? Of course, but no dirtier than in the B1G or other major conferences.
