Because the coaching staff is held hostage by your decision making, and if that 'freebie' visit happens to lead to a change of heart, they are screwed.

Because the coaching staff is already handcuffed with scholarship restrictions and major depth issues at WR, LB, etc and have to pass on kids they want because you gave your word.

I think the thing here is whether or not he did give someone on the staff a heads-up. There is conflicting info concerning this. In the long run it's still the recruit's choice, but at the same time he should exercise a degree of courtesy by letting the staff know ahead of time of any desire to make a visit to another school.

I think the Bank said that he had cleared it with one of the coaches (Drayton?). Whether or not that happened before or after the visit, though, might impact things.

You heard right, I see nothing wrong with taking a "freebee" visit to somewhere warm. In fact if U of Hawaii, SDSU, or DaU offered me a "freebee" visit this week I'd take it in a heart beat.

I see no indication the Mr. Munger is breaking his word. There was one report that he (might have) cleared his visit with an Ohio State coach. I'm giving the man the "benefit of the doubt" here as I fully expect him to honor his commitment and sign on the dotted line with Ohio State on National Letter Of Intent day.

Would you be referring to any of the numerous kids Meyer is pursuing who have already "given their word" to other schools?

24/7 $ - Munger Meets With Meyer, OSU Staff

1/25

Interview with his trainer...met with Meyer, Vrabel and Drayton last night and his trainer thinks he will sign with OSU.

There has been alot of single sentence information regarding the Munger and Jones recruitments these past 10 days. Perhaps because I don't have premium. But does the trainer's role in this seem somewhat similar to the coach in the Trey Depriest recruitment? Perhaps someone who knows more about this guy can tell me he is indeed not recruiting for FSU.

Shaker Heights Football Player Signs with Ohio State (video)
Posted on:February 7, 2013, by P.J. Ziegler

SHAKER HEIGHTS? The Ohio State Buckeyes 2013 signing class includes a member of the Shaker Heights football team: defensive lineman Donovan Munger. He was all smiles Thursday about signing with the Buckeyes.

UCLA, Florida State and Ohio State were all the athlete. In the end, the Buckeyes landed the Red Raider recruit.

?It was a dream of mine to play for Ohio State. The Ohio State team up north rivalry so it was a great thing for me and my family,? said Munger.

Munger was a four-star recruit according to Scout.com. He knows his biggest priority heading to Columbus this summer is to be in shape and be ready to run.

?Going in there, I can make an immediate impact with the guys that is coming in, having the number three class in the nation is a real good deal so we can come in and start working immediately,? he said.

Donovan Munger apparently cleared to report

It appears the 4-star defensive tackle is all set to join his 2013 classmates and suit up for the Ohio State football team this fall.

When the inbound freshmen (or in Corey Smith's case, newcomer) reported for duty with the Ohio State football program not even a month ago, one notable name was not amongst them. Donovan Munger, a 4-star defensive tackle from Shaker Heights, was believed to be stuck in some kind of clearing house purgatory, waiting to see if the standardized test scores he received in conjunction with his high school GPA would enable him to join Ohio State as expected or if, as a series of rumors indicated, he might have to look into alternative means of securing his NCAA eligibility (perhaps the junior college or prep school route).

After a whole lot of not knowing, it appears that Munger now has clarification on his status, and to the benefit of the defensive line depth for a unit expected to rotate warm bodies in and our on a near play by play basis, it sounds like Munger will be reporting to the Buckeyes after all.

Munger took to Twitter after receiving the good news Wednesday morning sharing the following:
Officially a Buckeye!!! God has all the Glory last month was crazy
