DT Doug Worthington (Official Thread)

Per the latest Rivals update Worthington is leaning towards a top 5 of Alabama, Penn State, LSU, Tennessee and Ohio State. Later in the article he claims Syracuse is his slight leader. Gotta love it

there is a 2nd Rivals update today which says LSU, tOSU, PSU, Va Tech, Maryland, Pitt, Alabama and Tenn are the schools that stand out and he hopes to have it down to a top 7 by the Fall- no Syracuse mentioned-lol

he is thinking about camps at North Carolina, Virginia and scUM- but none of those schools were mentioned as his favorites-wow he is really all over the board :tongue2:

The Insiders now has video of Worthington. The first thing that jumps out at you is his size. With his frame it would not surprise me to see him put on a little weight to play both inside and out. His listed height appears to be legit. He has a good motor and pursues well from the back side. He dropped in coverage on a few plays and didn't look out of place doing it and that's saying something for a kid who's 6'7". He tackles well and doesn't shy away from contact. There are times when he could get off blocks a little better but that will come with technique and experience. I'd probably rate him a little behind Alaeze but he's definitely a very nice looking prospect.

Ohio State leads

It seems he was pretty blown away by everything he saw in Columbus. He still likes Penn State and is visiting there this summer but he's been there before so it's not like there should be any surprises. He's going to take several more visit this summer including one to scUM.

Watched his video and I agree with the above breakdown. His size is definitely what stands out the most and his speed. Great motor. Seems to have some nice ball skills and drops into coverage well ala Will Smith. Has stated he looks up to Will Smith and to me he looks like a skinny version. What better way for him to pay tribute to Will than to sign with his old team? I hope OSU can ride this wave of momentum. He has been my personal #1 DE prospect with regards to OSU for about 3 months now.
