Some top juniors were at the game too, including defensive end William Gholston and defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins (Detroit/Southeastern). Hankins is the only one of those five prospects not currently holding a scholarship offer from Michigan State, and it may be just a matter of time until he also receives an offer from Dantonio.

By Trieu...great breakdown of Hankins.

From SpartanMag...hearing from the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Iowa, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Has been to see games at MSU and thinks Wisconsin is close to offering.

Same HS as William Gholston...

Has an Oklahoma offer...about all I need to know. Massive and seems to move well. Hopefully we are in good standings.

Edit: Just watched his film. He is disruptive, huge, and has surprising speed and mobility. However, he plays very high and will need to work on that, especially with his being so tall. He also tends to hand fight and lose focus on the play. He is also inconsistent with his first step...sometimes he is explosive off the ball and others he gets driven away while looking for the play. All in all, I love this offer though...potential is through the roof and he is only going to get better technically.

He has an Okla. offer? They sure know their DL too, so I trust that as well.

These type of big boy natural DT's don't come around this area often and the staff certainly seems to know that. There is good depth though in-state at DT but outside of Smith, this guy seems to be the best of them from the area. Will be interesting to hear who he likes, and I'd assume MSU will be tough to beat with the Gholston connection and the way they've been taking care of in-state recruiting. Good to see us getting in on this type of player though since we've ignored (maybe "gone in a diff. direction" is better verbiage) some good DT's in PA.

Actually Hankins is a kid that has been all over the map.

It has been said in articles that he grew up as a U of M fan but also has been stated in an article he followed the Spartans and that is the offer he is hoping for.

I don't think it is clear who he actually followed and we will see I guess when more offers roll in for him.

Presuming this offer turns out accurate. Someone reported an MSU offer a month ago or so and it proved out to be false.
