DT Michael Hill (Official Thread)

I feel embarrassed having all this d-line talent.

However, I am feeling much better when I think about an offense whose primary goal is not time of possession. This d-line is going to give the ball right back to the offense.

Big time commit. Big. I like how we brought in a ton of edge speed in the last class (Spence, Washington, and to some extent Pittman) and now have more powerful edge/inside guys (Bosa, Sprinkle, Price and now Hill). Future looks bright. Welcome aboard!

It looks like immediate playing time for Hill. In 5 months, we will lose Simon, Goebel, Williams, and I assume Hankins.

(Some say I am a glass half empty kind of guy, but I say "they made the glass too big".)

That makes you a mathematician or an engineer.

Still will have Bellamy, Hale, Bennett, Pittman(?), and Schutt on the inside (maybe Bosa), plus Miller, Hayes, Moore, Farris, Washington, and Spence on the outside. However, I could certainly see Hill getting in the rotation if Hankins leaves, as he is the only real 1-tech/NG type, save maybe Schutt.

Good catch. But I'm with you akronbuck, having a rotation of big, athletic DL is the key to a great defense and we are getting it done. It helps us compete nationally with guys like Hill but with the OL class scUM put together (one of the best ever imo), we are going to need it in conference too.

Hill remains firm with Ohio State

By Phil Kornblut
DL Michael Hill of Pendleton remains firmly committed to Ohio State his coach said Friday afternoon. An internet report said Hill was having second thoughts about his pledge and might look closely again at USC. Hill had USC and Clemson in his final group. But coach Paul Sutherland said that while talking with Hill last night about another matter, Hill told him there was no wavering. ?He said he was solid with Ohio State,? Sutherland said. Hill made multiple visits to USC and Clemson before deciding on the Buckeyes. ?Ohio State did not outwork the instate schools,? Sutherland said. ?He just grew up watching Ohio State on television and that was his favorite school.?
