DT Todd Denlinger (official thread)

Wow, we are off and running. Hopefully these early commits stay firm. Great start. I haven't followed recruiting passionately until the last year or so, have we ever had this solid of an early season, and does history show that these verbals for the most part remain firm?

Yeah, these verbals lead to LOIs about 95% of the time or better with a program like OSU. I think the teams that get stung more often are lower level Big10 and MAC schools when they have a verbal who then gets offered by one of the big boys. I'm not worried about any of the current OSU verbals even though Boone and Jamario may take visits.

The last time we were off to this good of a start (quantity AND quality) was the great 02 class. We had Zwick and Clarett committed early among others.

I wouldn't worry about how solid these commitments are. I can't recall an Ohio player committing this early only to break the commitment later on. Actually, I can't really recall any Ohio kids committing then going elsewhere. Irizarry almost did it two years ago. We all know how big of an OSU fan Williams is as well.

It's posted on the Bucknuts recruiting board. Also says 'official' on front page.

Sounds true enough.

Welcome aboard, Todd!

Todd Denlinger will probably end up as a 285 or 295 pound defensive tackle. With his speed, though, it would be interesting to see him coming off the edge. That's 3 for sure Top 100 guys with Cordle and Ryan Williams projected to make a run at some top 100 lists.
