Dwight Howard (NTTAWWT)

The NBA needs to switch to a transfer system like soccer. If the players are going to be allowed to exert this much control over the process even though they are still under contract, then a transfer system is the only fair and credible way to do it. The very idea of being able to trade Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries for Dwight Howard is a joke. Make it so teams can just use cash to buy and sell the rights to players. The ability to acquire superstar talent would still end up being consolidated in the same places as it is now, but at least under a transfer system the feeder teams would get cash toward their bottom lines instead of bad players and bad contracts.

With the Gerald Wallace + Deron Williams + Joe Johnson contracts the nets only have lie 6 mill in cap space, right? How can they make move for Dwight? They can't amnesty anyone they already used that.

Williams is a free agent... doesn't count against the cap.. .looks like they might not be plannign on him coming back.

they'd have to renounce his bird rights in order to clear a cap hold from williams. if they do such, then trade for howard, they won't be able to sign williams back.

the nets, in order to keep williams and trade for howard, have to send out a ton of salary to meet the 150% rate, which basically requires them to trade almost their entire roster.

Seriously, [censored] that league. How much longer is that gnome commissioner going to allow the players to hold their teams hostage and set up fantasy teams?

They have a collective bargaining agreement. The commissioner can't just nullify it at his whim.

(And before anyone refers to Goodell, the authority he wields is allowed in the CBA. Shame on the union for agreeing to it).

I thought the only reason Dwight wanted to go to Brooklyn was so he could play with Deron Williams......

Dwight wants to be Superman in a big market, Williams or no Williams.

Let's not forget the guy just had back surgery. Big dude with one surgery already at the age of 26... Knees are one thing. Perhaps teams might be shying away from him because of that

I'd shy away from him because he's more indecisive than a teenage a girl and dumber than a young boy.

Good to see the Nets following the Knicks model. Because, you know, it's been so successful...

Both teams seem more interested in celebrity appeal than winning and enough New Yorkers seem dumb enough to pack the house to watch them. At least for now...
