Ed "LL" Warinner (Run Game Coordinator FAU)

Not to be the “we didn’t want him anyway” guy, but fuck him I can be, his best offensive lines were built from Jim Bollman’s pieces. He took the cluster of a line that couldn’t block, gave them to Mariotti, then moved them around and created 3 of the best offensive lines I’ve seen in the Scarlet & Gray. The only problem is that then he had to go identify, recruit, and sign the next bunch. It has been discussed widely on this site, but the lack of depth on the O-line is directly related to his misses. It’s rectified now, but there was a reason why the backup o-line looked clueless when thrust into action, when he was split OC/Line and OC/TE Coach.

This man got sent packing from Ohio State, signed up to coach O-line under an upstart Minnesota team with a young coach, then leaves them high and dry after ONE year. Brian Kelly = bridge burned. Urban Meyer = bridge burned. PJ Fleck = bridge burned. The only one he last left is a bridge to losses against Ohio State.

To each their own on thoughts of him joining the scum crew. I understand why many would be angered, but I for one could care less. It's business at the end of the day

It's not just business - it's another part of the rivalry. Hopefully a small story; but it's a story nontheless. This rivalry is built on Ohio traitors... he's another one. He's no different than an Ohio kid that chooses Michigan. Far worse, I'd say... since he's an adult with ample opportunities elsewhere.
There's 69 major CFB programs out there and 32 NFL teams... and he went there. It's a bridge burning. He was a great OLine coach for us, not a very good OC for us... hope he's not a good coach for them.

He’s going to look like whatever the Tom Herman version of OLine coaching is with the subtraction of Drevno

What's the connection with Herman ? Warinner seems to have very limited xp with spread. His most notable (and successful) experience is limited to OLine with service academies and ND... besides, Michigan brought in another run-first pro-style guy with McElwain.
I can't really be bothered to look up what Kansas was doing back then and it ends with his demotion from OC back to OL at another school (a pattern that repeats throughout his career). Textbook example of a great position coach hitting the Peter Principle wall; repeatedly. That proves that not only is he a shit OC, but he's a really good OL coach to convince multiple HCs to make the same mistake over and over again... besides, we saw his results compared to Bollman first hand.
I don't underestimate his ability to coach up some linemen. I'm assuming the crayon-eating son is still their RB coach though?

No connection. Drevno is just that bad.

His story in the rivalry less a factor than the kids from the respective states go for the opposing state school, IMO.
Warrinner is another coach in a room of too many coaches in the scum offense, and all of them have been inept against teams with pulses. I haven't seen any changes to anything that Hairball has done this offseason to make me worry that they're a step closer to beating tOSU and winning the B1G. I always have a healthy "fear" of the Game, because I lived through the Cooper years, but these teams seem much different now. Since Urban has gotten to tOSU, there gets to a point in the Game, when scum can't keep up with our players and seem deflated(all but the 2016 game). I don't see Warriner helping with that.
And even if he turns out to be a great OL coach for them, it doesn't change the fact that their offense is still shit and can't get out of their own ways

Jim Kardashian: OK Bo....er....Ed. This is the only reason I hired you. What are these guys going to do on offense?
Ed: If memory serves me, they're about to run a speed option to the short side of the field.......that's what I would do.
*30 yard RPO to Parris Campbell*
JK: Shit.....ok, you got that one wrong. Now what?
Ed: Well usually it's 2nd and 14, so I don't really understand what's going on here.
*27 yard run by JK Dobbins*
JK: What the fuck Bo? This is supposed to work.
Ed: You mean Ed?
JK: Whever your name is.....what's the next pl....
*23 yard TD pass to Jeremy Ruckert*
Ed: Hey no fair.....you can't throw to a TE!
JK: Alright screw this.....get me the NFL job openings.

Jimbo is way too calm in your story. Where’s all the faces? The turning red? The yelling at refs? The taking off of headset? Something really fucking weird that none of us can picture yet?
