Pnuts- I haven't watched Price's film, but it is obvious to me that the staff wants 2 LB's minimum. With Vaughters and DePriest far from a sure thing (I would not expect either to end up at OSU at this point), Crowell being likely but not a sure thing and Caputo as a mystery, I would say this offer has warrant. Can't wait to see his film though.

Pretty surprised with this offer, how does he stack up against the other MLBs we've offered so far?

obviously the coaches feel like he stacks up pretty well, what more do you need than that?

I'm going to say he stacks up right below the guys that have been offered, but above all the guys that haven't been offered.

I think the animosity comes from pnuts being suprised by the offer when no one knows anything about the kid. Plus, I don't know which of the other offers were for Mike LB. DePriest and Vaughters seem athletic enough to play where ever needed. Rivals says OLB for DePriest and ILB for Vaughters, but who knows what the staff has in mind. Price has some solid offers (Iowa, Michigan State) and the list seems like it's growing.

Besides that, this thread has taken a :bonk: turn.

Not a lot of PA guys have much on him, I'll ask around. The one report I got was that he plays fast and aggressive with a nose for the ball, has good instincts. He mentioned Brian Rolle when describing him, that seems to match up with the style of LB's that most of the schools that have offered look for.

From a scout that saw him as a sophomore, but not a junior.

"He reminds you of another western PA MLB, Dan Mason. Not very tall 5'11-6', around 230. Kid has pretty decent lateral movement and hits the opening hards. He is a big hitter, needs to improve his coverage skills. His 40 isn't going to impress anyone, similar speed to another 2011 PA LB, Ben Kline."
