What's apparent is that it is their lives, not ours that are most impacted by their decision. I could care less about an early signing period. They have the right to take the time they need and make the decision that is best for them...period.

despite making a public commitment to one school ? um, okay

you didn't even read my post. where did I say they couldn't take their time ?

so you approve of players changing their minds on NLOID without any prior notice ?

I suspect Price was communicating to the coaches about his waffling...I hope so.

Of course I read your post. That's why I responded.

It doesn't matter what I approve of it's their life. This is a decision that could shape the rest of their lives. I'm sorry if it offends you that a kid might have a change of heart.

Back to one of our newest Buckeyes.

early signing period = optional for player just like in basketball
customary signing period = optional for player

I can only see how the early signing period could HELP the player, not hurt him

Woodland Hills' Price not going to Ohio State

Woodland Hills High School linebacker Ejuan Price has seen the turmoil surrounding the Ohio State football program and decided he doesn't want to play for the Buckeyes.

Price, who signed with Ohio State in February, has requested a release from his letter of intent with the Buckeyes. Woodland Hills coach George Novak said Price requested the release a month ago.

"He just didn't feel any stability there even before [Jim] Tressel resigned," Novak said.

Novak said Ohio State is supposed to let Price know Friday whether it will release him. Before Price chose Ohio State, his other top choice was Iowa, but he had other scholarship offers from Division I schools.

"He has some ideas, but if he gets his release I'm not sure where he would go," Novak said.

I guess it isn't shocking that he is requesting his release, given that he seemed to have such a difficult time deciding between OSU and Pitt on signing day. You'd think he'd jump right to Pitt now, which is why the author mentioning Iowa seems odd.

Best of luck to him.

He was down to Ohio State, Pitt & Iowa before signing with OSU, so neither Pitt or Iowa would be surprising to me.

I never want to lose any player, but Ohio State is never "hurting" for LBs. Good luck to Ejuan & I hope he has a successful college career, where ever he ends up.

Cant Blame te kid for leaving. when you think about it their the ones that will really pay when the ncaa makes its ruling. sure thos 5 (4 now) players will have that 5 game suspension but then they'll come back get their jobs and go to the nfl while the newer guys will have to deal with a possible post season suspension
