Rivals just recently posted video. What a tremendous athlete. Not much action of him having to navigate through traffic, but this kid is extremely explosive and runs sideline to sideline better than any LB we've offered in this class IMO.

Scout $ - Price Favoring Two Right Now

7/27

By The Bank....Recaps his visit to Iowa and says Ohio State and the Hawkeyes are tied as his two favorites. Says he has a great relationship with Coach Fickell and plans to make a decision before his season, though he's not going to rush.

Not to make this sound like a Tom Beaver post but with the news of DePriest heading south, I have been watching film of other LBs OSU is pursuing and I really will be extremely pleased with a LB class of Crowell and Price if OSU can pull it off (and I think it's very possible).

Names to keep in mind

As I look at the current recruiting effort, which is looking like a top five class no matter who the Buckeyes pick up from now until signing day, I can't see any players high on my board other than Doran Grant who is a sure Buckeye lean, and I think the Buckeyes land the much underrated Ejuan Price.

The only chink in Price's game may be his size at right around 5-11/6-0 tall. Price is a devastating tackler who has a very quick first step and closes fast on the ball carrier. He sheds blocks and plays well in traffic. Price moves well laterally tracking down ball carriers sideline to sideline. Shows above average cover skills in the hook/curl zone. Price is a very active athlete capable of making big momentum changing plays. Has the size and athleticism for the inside linebacker at the major level of competition. Shows very good flexibility, balance and agility; can play in space against the pass and is a very consistent run stopper; is quick to K&D against both the run and pass. Flashes the playing strength to take on and defeat run blockers; also has the quickness to avoid contact while working through traffic, demonstrating very good lateral pursuit habits. This guy has the athleticism to move on or off the line of scrimmage; can play downhill and fill gaps while keeping leverage on the ball; shows the ability to play off blockers, keep his legs free while skating to the ball vs. the outside run and does a very good job of flattening down the line of scrimmage on plays away. We like his coverage and pass rushing potential; displays the ability to crossover for depth in zone coverage with good route awareness and eyes on the QB; breaks well on the ball with strong tackling skills; can knock 'em back with punishing toughness. This prospect has good edge speed along with a closing burst to the QB. His great motor and ability as a play maker on defense give us every reason to believe he will be an early contributor on special teams. Price's athleticism and toughness will allow for flexibility when setting up game plans; early playing time beyond special teams is not out of the question, depending upon the school he ultimately ends playing for.

I can't help but feel positive about landing him if he has us tied with Iowa on the heels of visiting them. The depth chart and the opportunity/program at OSU has to really stand out to him at this point.. esp. if DePriest does the expected on Friday.

Looks amazing on film. Still seems odd he doesn't have more offers even if he isn't considered ideal in size. Dude can ball...I hope he ends up in Cbus.

As a rule, I generally dislike ESPN's recruiting reviews for various reasons, but their description of Ejuan Price sounds very much like Brian Rolle.

To go along with the stylistic similarities between the two, both of them share the same number of letters in their first and last names (5), and each of them have two syllables in the first name and one in the last. So, yeah, Ejuan Price is really meant to take over Brian's place on the team after this season. It's just destiny.
