Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

After more than 1.5 years clean, I got lured back in. Damnit. Level 70 and over 420,000 gold and I'm still collecting and selling junk (me, I call them treasures) like its ever going to make a bit of difference. I'd like to get to 1,000,000 gold (why? Because I can. That's why), but I'm starting to run out of major quests and unexplored areas....I might need to pick up a guide of some sort so I can find all the quests and location I've missed in my meanderings. What is wrong with me?

Any favorite obscure quests anyone remembers that I might have missed?

I'm on my second character. Level 250-something, all skills 100 and all perks unlocked. Haven't completed a single objective of the main quest yet.

@Fungo Squiggly, do you have the DLC? The all the quests on Solstheim are quite good.

Holy hell, that's amazing!

I just went "legendary" for the first time on some of the skills (smithing, alchemy, enchanting, lockpicking) and that is helping me level-up a bit more quickly, but 250? Yikes....I need to get busy.

I got a gift certificate for the two DLC add-ons, but haven't installed them yet because I won't be bothered to learn how to do it. Maybe that should be the next thing I do.

Do what you will with this, but it was fun:

Fortify Restoration, Alchemy and Smithing Boosting Enchantments[edit]
If you put an Alchemy boosting enchantment on a ring, necklace, gloves, and helmet, craft a Fortify Restoration potion, consume it, then unequip and re-equip the gear, this will cause the enchantments to temporarily be effectively better than they were, allowing you to create a stronger potion, which increases the effect even more. After repeating this a number of times, your potions can be boosted to a ridiculous level. If you craft a Fortify Enchanting potion which boosts your enchantment skill by around 40,000% or more, you can enchant an item to boost alchemy by a ridiculous amount as well. This will allow you to craft potions that increase the skill considerably, even at level 15. This will allow you to boost alchemy from 15 to 100 in a matter of seconds, making it very easy to obtain additional levels. A boost of the smithing skill can be achieved the same way: After crafting the Fortify Enchanting potion, put a smithing enchantement on a piece of gear. Improving a piece of armor or weapon will also boost smithing from 15 to 100 if you have 4-5 pieces of the tempering material.

This exploit makes leveling and making skills legendary go much faster once you're at level 80+. I like exploiting these types of bugs. The fastest way I've found is to use it to create mega-powerful Fortify Alchemy gear, them make mega potions valued at like 1,000,000 or more, then sell those, while continually making the alchemy and speech skills legendary. There's something really satisfying about taking each of those skills from 15-100 and back with just a few actions. Also, seven-digit armor, health, magicka and damage are all kinda cool. I can pick off a dragon in mid-flight with the cheapest bow out there. They actually continue to fly when you do that, until they find a suitable spot to land and die, then you get to track it.

I figure once you get to level 80+ you're pretty much invincible already, so it's fun to stretch the limits of the game. It actually takes more character planning and engagement to exploit the game in this manner than it takes to grind through dungeons forever. Reaching level 252 gives you enough perk points to unlock everything.

Yeah, I read about that, but that's not my style. I'm definitely a grinder. I enjoy revisiting the dungeons and finding new ways to kill people. My magic use has always been pretty light, so right now I'm throwing down a bunch of fire runes then drawing attention to myself with a fireball from across the room. That might change at some point when it takes even longer to move up.

Except for Frostflow Lighthouse. I won't ever be going back there.

Just a top, top game. I think I played it and only it from when it came out in late 2011 until the Witcher was released this May. Finished the main quest once. Must have had at least 100 different characters along the way.

With mods (PC version obviously) it just never got old.

Does Skyrim already need to be remastered?

http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/12/1...nounced-release-date-trailer-bethesda-e3-2016

Nearly five years after it first came out, Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to have a very impressive fan base that keeps the game pretty through HD mods. Now it's Bethesda's turn: tonight at its E3 press conference, the company has announced a remastered version of Skyrim coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Judging from the footage just released — jump to 3:18 if you want to skip all the new Fallout — Skyrim Special Edition has been improved dramatically for the new generation (all relevant technical details are mentioned in the video above, including VOLUMETRIC GOD RAYS). The console versions will also now support PC mods. The remastered game is launching October 28th.
