I thought I bought this game three days ago and pre-downloaded it. I guess that was all just a dream, because here I am, downloading something else that's going to take a fucking hour.

Not too happy. I would've just went to Wal-Mart had I known this was going to happen.

There is a day 1 patch, or did it take an hour to pre load the entire game?

If it's the day 1 patch, you would have to download that with a physical copy too.

It took a few hours to pre-load the game. A friend of mine said his copy decrypted and fired up with no patch. My roommate is talking to him on Vent.

Not sure how some can play right away and others can't.

Does he have automatic updates on? Might be able to play right away without the day 1 patch without automatic updates. Or vice versa. Automatic update might have updated the pre load, and without auto update it didn't upload yet you need to the update to launch the game. The only last thing I can think of is along those same lines...you pre loaded prior to launch but shut down Steam before the patch pre loaded.

Those are my only thoughts. Who knows.

After a little over three hours of gameplay:

It's ridiculously awesome. I'm running it at high settings and it looks beautiful.

The dungeons appear to be more varied than Oblivion's, which is great because those got old pretty fast.

I've done a bunch of little side quests that were relatively simple. The game pretty much throws gold at you too. I already have over 4000 gold. Not sure how much that will be in terms of the economy, but it feels like a lot.

The character creation is a lot more user-friendly and easier to get a character that looks good. I'm using a high elf and going mage all the way, like I always have. It's fun. The spells are very cool looking, same with the one shout I have.

Dragons are fucking badasses. The combat with them is a lot of fun, and not easy (but not too hard).

Argonians actually look really awesome. I used to think they looked lame, but I'll probably make one because they look so cool.

Worth the wait. :banger:
