I always felt DickRod got screwed at scUM, he came in (Carr had left the cupboard bare) and actually improved scUM's record each year. He should have been given another year or 2. They replaced him with Hoke who was a totally incompetent as a head coach.

2008: 3-9

2009: 5-7

2010: 7-6

Since you needed a strong defense to win the big games and championships, and DickRod's teams never played defense; he was the perfect coach for scUM.

And let's never forget how that high-brow entity know as That School Up North hired RichRod:

University President Mary Sue Coleman and AD (GodBlessYou) Bill Martin (YouMagnificentSOB) went to a motel in the Toledo area to secretly meet with RichRod.
Later on, Coleman and GBYBMYMSOB claimed that they weren't in the same room as RichRod and his lawyer when the terms of his WVU contract buyout were discussed; in order to not be forced to testify in any WVU-Rodriguez legal disputes.

Although I can understand a woman wanting 'separate rooms' in any relations with RichRod, I never believed that version of the story. In what was basically a job interview and contract negotiations, supposedly neither of them were ever in the same room with the guy they're about to offer millions of dollars to. TSUN then paid WVU $2.5 million (and RichRod supposedly also paid WVU $1.5 million) to settle the contract dispute over RichRod's departure from Morgantown (ESPN story). I always believed that they were willing to do that in order to have Mary Sue Coleman and GBYBMYMSOB avoid testifying.

For those who care, here's my BP post from 2008 with more details.

Just sayin'; If you are running out of ideas, here is one of my favorite things......

My Favorite Things is an escape to happier days and nights. The philosophy is simple:

When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

So let's do that. Today, we're in Pasadena on January 1, 1969.

MY FAVORITE THINGS: EPISODE 15, DAY OF THE DILLY BAR

Later on in the broadcast one of the cameras found Dan Lehman, a technician whose job is to make sure the Gophers' communications are functioning properly. He was eating a Dilly Bar in a snowstorm, as heroes generally do.
