ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

The BTN and the B1G should start their own Gameday-type show and have some sort of agreement amongst its members that it will go somewhere every week (including non-conference), and that no other "competing" Gameday type shows are allowed on any B1G campus.

Then they can have a parody segment where a senile old man and some bronzed stooge come out and play Corso and Herbstreit every week making stupid statements and predictions...priceless.

BTN has one (technically two) from 10-12 p.m. ET Saturdays.

The one from the campus sites is from 10-10:30 a.m. Granted, Armani Toomer is on it (with Rick Pizzo), but it's from campus sites.

The studio one with Dave Revsine, DiNardo and Griffith is from 10:30-12 p.m. It honestly has more information and less grandstanding than ESPN College GameDay (less drama pieces trying to win awards and just football breakdown).

Once they went from 10-12 p.m., I completely turned off "GameDay" and went solely BTN. It's X's and O's and no ESPN playing to its favorites.

BTN has televised from the same location as "GameDay" in the past (that location was Columbus on multiple occasions).

Maybe the facts are as they read.

Or maybe when this all blew up JT (stand up guy who put the University and players first) sat down with Smith (*guy who knew how the NCAA works) and agreed on what needed to be said and done to minimize the damage.

In other words Tressel isn't in our rear view mirrors because of this incident. This incident is in our rear view mirrors because of Tressel.

Then again - what do I know.

(* - Omission of the phrase "stand up" not an oversight.)

I hear ya & think it's a little bit of both..

It's like believing in something for the longest time, looking forward to it and then being disappointed in the end.

I liken the typical reaction of some (ESPN, CBS, and others) to finding out there isn't a Santa Claus.

I'm halfway through the Tressel transcript, reading this news, seeing the reactions from the "media".. Unless there's a bombshell in this transcript yet to come I'm not down for rejoicing, I'm madder than hell we lost JT over this bullshit.

To elaborate, when this all broke - I was of the opinion you give JT a year off so I'm no apologist but this whole thing is fucking ridiculous especially considering what's going on at Texas, Oregon, LSU, Auburn, UNC and the free pass they have all gotten in the media coverage. Let's be honest, that coverage EVERY single day + the BS SI story is what forced JT out (wether it was JT doing what he felt was best for the school or Geno doing what ge felt was needed to stop the bleeding).. The university & JT were dug in to endure this & the media came to camp out on campus.

Fuck them all. Every last one of them. Ready to rally behind this team & win. & win. & win. Fuck M*ch*g*n.

Sadly, Tressel had to take the fall. If Ohio State kept ties with him, then the failure to monitor becomes more likely. Tressel was in the wrong, no doubt about that. Yet if the university continued to back him, it would have allowed the NCAA to link his actions back to the department. Guilt by association. By letting him go the athletic department can claim he acted on his own and was fired for it. If they kept him (even with a large suspension), the NCAA could see that as a way of condoning his actions. It was a risk management action that needed to be taken. They could have kept Tressel, but would have been taking a big risk.

Can we organize an event for every person who follows Mark May on twitter and then drop a bomb on it?

I vote the replacement for shit be changed to something else...shit didn't do anything to deserve this.

What they need to do is move all games to Fox with the next contract. I know people hate Fox, but the B10 still has a contract with ABC/ESPN. So they still need to work with them on some level.

The big negative is the lack of national exposure for the 2nd tier games. Fox obviously has Fox Sports networks for those type of games, but those are often not a part of basic cable. ESPN and ESPN2 are.

I can make it if BB73 can.

I'm up for that. Since I think I can play either part, I'll let you choose.

I still have respect for those who criticize and still show up to Ohio Stadium to cover games versus those who criticize from a distance (and never face those they're criticizing face-to-face).

You wouldn't believe the army of people with ESPN, CBS and Yahoo! Sports who would never in a million years travel into Columbus, yet attack OSU at will.
