ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

Thanks for thinking that I could be at one of those.

Well, someone has to serve apéritifs...

Does their analytics department even know math at this point or do they just randomnly choose numbers to make Bama look good?

Yeah, but just think about what Alabama has accomplished this season. They had to beat every team on their schedule... and what makes that so incredible is that every team on their schedule is a team that had to play Alabama. So Alabama is 7 for 7 when facing off against Alabama opponents! No other team in college football can make that claim!

I saw them starting that "strength of record" bullshit last week I think it was.

Notice, it isn't tthe traditional "strength of schedule" because, well, that wouldn't fit the narrative.

As usual, just some made up ESPN numbers to make their marketing campaign seem like news.

ESPN severs ties with New Mexico Bowl title sponsor, which apparently isn’t a real company
By Joe Lucia on 10/25/2019

The New Mexico Bowl is one of those ESPN-created bowl games that takes place before Christmas, despite the fact that no one has actually demanded it. The current matchup in the New Mexico Bowl pits the Mountain West against Conference USA, and last year’s game featured a damned good Utah State team wiping the floor with North Texas.

For years, Gildan was the game’s title sponsor, but after the game went sponsorless last year, ESPN announced a new title sponsor for the game earlier this month – DreamHouse Productions. There was just one problem with this announcement.

DreamHouse Productions doesn’t appear to exist.

Shortly after the announcement, New Mexico-centric sports site Enchantment Sportsbegan work on a series of articles exposing DreamHouse and CEO Eric Martinez (referred to as a “scam artist”) as fraudulent. One of the Enchantment Sports articles claims that DreamHouse hasn’t even broke ground on their studio that was supposed to open this past spring, and an article from this Wednesday by the Albuquerque Journalreveals that DreamHouse’s address in state records is the same as Martinez’s home address in court records.

Here’s a delightful excerpt from the Journal about the nonexistent studio.

But this week, there were no signs of DreamHouse at the Aperture Center. The three-story building is mostly vacant, except for a cafe and a construction business.

Martinez said in an interview earlier this month with an Arkansas television station that the company’s space was next to the Netflix production hub at Mesa Del Sol. But when asked about DreamHouse at the Netflix gate this week, a security guard said he didn’t know of the firm, adding, “That’s a new one to me.”

On Thursday, ESPN severed ties with DreamHouse without offering much in the way of reasoning to the Journal.

Not exactly sure how you cut ties with a company that doesn't exist, but ok

Kansas State closes out upset of Oklahoma after Sooners' disputed onside kick :roll1:

Oklahoma's loss at K-State is going to be a sticking point in the committee meeting room because the Sooners were clearly outplayed for most of the game — but not impossible to overcome. 14 of the past 20 CFP semifinalists have lost, but OU also has to overcome a weaker schedule. It's worth watching how the committee ranks the rest of the Big 12. This loss opens the door for a 1-loss Pac-12 champ and Notre Dame to get more serious consideration.
