They really decided it would be wise to pull an MTV and completely 180 from what gave them all their success.

its a pretty basic concept.
Show Live Games.
Discuss what happened in live games.
Project what will happen in future live games.


Everything else...let other media outlets cover it.

Shit, I don't even care about them projecting what happens. Just give me an hour straight of highlights from the previous night with mildly amusing commentary. And run that same episode from 6AM-12P. Go back to what ESPN so good in the mid-90's.

I heard an ad for the Video Music Awards yesterday on the radio....and it brought up the same feeling almost everybody has when they think of music videos: remember when MTV played music videos? Then I realized.....if they hadn't pivoted away from just playing music videos, which at the time was awesome and I loved them....they'd be bankrupt. You can go online and get whatever music video you want in seconds. Why even tune in to MTV?

It sucks....but at least for MTV it was smart.
