Ex-Wolverine BS (all merged - including the tearful goodbyes)

The leaves are green ... but very dark. They could easily be mistaken for black. Not like the original Buckeye leaves ... they were green ... no question.

I, for one, am willing to give "Ex" a chance. He has already ridiculed his alma mater almost as we do. The man is now a student at Ohio State, and thus he is a Buckeye. If we can allow a kid from Michigan to quarterback our beloved Buckeye to a national title and two straight BCS bowls wins, I'm sure we can tolerate a new fan who suffered through four years of hell and has seen the light about Ohio State.

MoC I think is stupid, but I certainly don't hate him. Honestly I feel the same way about Chris Carter.

Drew Henson is hated because he went to scUM, but certainly not the amoungst the most hated scUMers

Green as eveyone else has said.

There is a cheap t-shirt place up on north high street, not nike stuff, but you can probably get some stuff on clearance at all of the bookstores.

I thought I was a rabid Buckeye fan. I cry everytime I watch the end of the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. I actually begin feeling Ill every time I hear "Hell to the Victors".
But Killernut, Compared to you, I'm just another wannabe.

Also, anyone know if there is a place to get cheap OSU gear in Columbus? At UM, we have Steve and Barry's, where you get hoodies for like $13. I love the Nike stuff, but I am a student, I can't lay out $60 for a shirt.
Universi-Tees on High Street around 17th Avenue. T-shirts are buy 1 get 2 (sometimes 3) free. Sweatshirts are usually Buy 1 get 1 (or 2) free.

The Boss & A-Rod

gbear: "Regarding Steinbrenner... his wife was born and raised in Columbus (Upper Arlington to be exact), and recieved her undergrad degree from OSU."

The Boss went to OSU for his graduate degree. So, he's an alumnus as well. In fact, after the A-Rod trade, the Boss did an interview on YES where he was asked about what he likes about Rodriguez: He went down the list, "He's an excellent young man," "He's a great player," yadda, yadda ... and he ended the interview with this quote:

"And most of all, his wife is a graduate of The Ohio State University!" And he held his class ring up to the camera.

I wonder what went down in the A-Rod household the night of the Fiesta Bowl? Rodriguez is a Hurricanes fan, and his wife is a Buckeye.

I happened to be with Mr. S. on Friday evening, in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Tampa for a business related event at Legends field, where the Yankees play spring ball. I talked to him for about and hour regarding his ties to Ohio and his love for tOSU. He does have a NC ring that was given to him by OSU. Also talked with Donald Trump, who threw out the first pitch at the game. Donald does not know much about OSU, but he did know George went to a lot of games, and even asked Donald to go with him a couple of times.

In general, he seems to have a real love for the University and Coach Trussel.

Buckeye leafs are dark green. Back when I was there, they were green with a little black on the steam.

OK, a couple more...

How come there are no buckeye nuts anywhere to be found on the Oval? Do the squirrels eat them? Last time I visited, I wanted one so badly because I have never seen one, and I scoured the ground but didn't see one.

What's the significance of Hang on Sloopy?

Near the Shoe is a buckeye grove (one tree for each OSU All-American)... you can get your nuts there.

Hang-on-sloopy is not technically an OSU song. a long time ago (don't know when 40's-50's maybe??) the band played the the song, people liked it, and the band has been playing it eversince.
