extra pages in threads

In two separate threads I have noticed recently that it shows an extra page that I can't view and appears to have nothing in it. The Big Ten Expansion thread has a 148th page, yet I can only view up to the 147th page, and the NCAA 11 thread shows a 12th page, while I can only view up to the 11th page.

It's unrelated to this morning's issue. There has been some wonkiness for quite some time now when it comes to mods/admins splitting and merging threads.

When we get in to upgrade everything in a month or two, I'm going to submit a ticket to Jelsoft to see about how to fix this problem. It may be as simple as resetting all the counters. It might be as ugly as deeper/bigger database problems. Might also be some sort of mysql or PHP misconfiguration. I just don't know enough about this stuff to be able to speak intelligently about it.

What I can say is that there's nothing in those pages. As far as I can tell, all the posts that are supposed to be there are. It's almost like some moves/splits have sort of timed out during the process -- after the content has moved, before the old thread was told that there are that many posts that have been removed, creating a 'disagreement' server-side, in regard to what to display.

That's probably totally wrong though. :)

For the time being, ignore it. And do me (everyone) a *huge* favor by trying to avoid creating or fueling scenarios that require mods and admins to split threads.

That's our new BP touchscreen...just grab a permanent marker (any color works) and draw a few buttons on your screen. Clarity's new software will read those and create a touchscreen according to your specifications.

Thanks CLARITY! YOU THE MAN!

I tried this and it didn't work until I drew buttons ON ALL FOUR CORNERS of the screen IN CRAYON and CONNECTED THEM BY DRAWING STRAIGHT LINES BETWEEN THEM. Apparently, the wax in the crayons is what makes it work but you need to have the lines to reach WAX CRITICAL MASS.

I find that darker colors work better.

I never cease to be amazed at the pace of innovations in IT.

Greenies for Clarity.

It's annoying, but appears to be entirely cosmetic. It will be resolved, but I don't have an ETA on the fix. It's probably as simple as rebuilding the counters, but I don't want to start messing with things until I'm really ready to take on some of the bigger work for the vB 4.x upgrade. July is my guess.
