Here in Dayton we don't have very many fair weather OSU fans. That said, we analyze/criticize the hell out of the Buckeyes when it is deserved!!!!!!

I agree w/ the poster who said they make a point of wearing OSU stuff after a loss-I do that as well.

I was talking with my brother last week who knows I am a diehard fan. He mentioned his neighbor, who is an OSU grad, isn't following the team anymore because they lost a few games. I went off on my brother and told him to go tell his neighbor to stay off the fucking bandwagon. My brother was quiet for a moment and just said he thought he would wait a couple of days because the guy and his wife were just welcoming their newborn home.

The mood I'm in right now if someone were to say a disrespectful comment to my face because I was wearing an OSU item I'd probably push them so hard they would fall to the ground and then I'd stand over them. As for a female probably a string of exple ah ah profanity. Spent my life in Ohio State house and some folks just don't realize the history or the tradition. Glad it's Michigan week, time to regroup and kick someone's ass. BuckUp.

I have had something OSU on since last week and I plan on keeping it that way up until we send those pricks packing to Orlando for New Years! Enjoy the Captial One Bowl scUM...they've missed you!

I was at a pet store yesterday and a woman was looking for a Buckeye collar for her dog. When the guy told her they were all sold out her response was "That's surprising, considering how sorry they are this year."

Well, if this beyatch thought the Buckeyes were so sorry, then what the fuck was she doing buying a Buckeye collar?

Let 'em jump off. The collective i.q. of the message boards should rise.

I'll be at "The Game" Sat. I will continue to not alllow anyone to "cut in" in traffic if they have a Michgan plate or any scUM-related articles in view.

Before the season, I wanted to go 11-0. Then, after NW, I said, ok let's go 10-1 and so on and so forth. I'm currently hoping we'll go 8-4, but I'm no less excited about this game then I am about any othe scUM game. I'll still leave home at 5am to get to campus early. I'll still stop the Waffle House in Polaris to break bread with all other Buckeye fans. I'll still boo loudly when scUM takes the field, and I'll still scream after every last point the Bucks score, even if we're losing by 20.

There's only 2 damn games left this season and it's a long off season until the spring game. I'm certainly going to enjoy my self the last 2 games.

By the way scUM and espn still suck!!!!!

Believe me when I tell you I considered asking her that very question. Not sure why but she pissed me off, as do most bandwagon fans. The scumbag walking around in a scUM sweatshirt and hat didn't help matters.

Funny story...I was with my father the other day and he's as mild mannered as they come. We were driving by a store and a kid in a scUM jacket runs out the store and shoots right in front of his car. After asking him if the kid had a deathwish or something he says "you know he's a worthless punk, look at the jacket he's wearing." No one can say I wasn't raised right.

I'm shocked he wasn't followed out of the store by a korean cashier swinging a baseball bat and yelling something about "carring the porice".

I have been preaching the "fair weather fan" story all year. After the Wisconsin loss, you could actually feel the bandwagon lighten up.

This makes me excited about the Michigan game this week. I will be there, and so will many other die hard fans. This will weave out the fair weather fans who buy expensive tickets just to say they were there. Ohio Stadium will be filled with true fans this weekend.

As for Woody's political wisdom, I think it was considerable. He and his generation (active duty in WWII), understood what loyalty to an ideal was since they fought for it on a personal level. He was brought up during the crippling Depression and born in a decade of a rampant depression in Ohio's heartland. He also was a master student of history and had a very good grasp of international politics. You may not agree with Woody's politics, but to deny his understanding of same or the validity of it simply doesn't hold water.
Sorry, I have unwittingly misrepresented my views by using the word "politics" in two contexts. I am quite aware of Woody's command of military history, which was his real interest. I am an Army veteran as well by the way.

By politically wise, I mean that Woody sometimes wore his principles on his sleeve too brightly and brought unneeded negative attention to himself that eventually helped feed the frenzy that took him away from coaching.

For example, take Woody's overt support for Richard Nixon during Watergate. Nixon was a brilliant international political strategist in his own right but he was a lightning rod for criticism and I think it would be fair to say that Woody was unwise to continue supporting him as he did.

Does that mean I don't admire Woody for sticking to principles, as he did? That I don't recognize his loyalty to someone he considered a friend? No, I can think of few people who were true leaders in the sense that he was. As far as I am concerned, warts and all, they don't come much finer than Woody Hayes!

Here! Here! Woody had a deep passion for History. You might not like his political view but he certainly was more than capible in that department.

My point exactly Rob. But I still think his greatest contribution was his deep commitment to the kind of values that few leaders even understand anymore. He was loyal to his players. He would have given anything to beat TSUN, but do any of us believe for one moment he would not have protested a bad call that deprived TSUN of a win, if he knew it was a bad call?

Woody was about integrity and authenticity. He was the antithesis of sleaze. Tressel exhibits many of those same qualities, in my opinion.

I won't judge others who don't have the level of commitment to OSU that I have. But I am clear in who I support, come rain or shine.

Since we are speaking about it I guess I will chime in. Two years ago I flew up for THE GAME. I had the shampoo effect from the night before. (that means that only a few drinks set me into the buzz that I had from the night before.)

I entered the mens room near Gate 6 where I sit and I passed a guy in a Michigan helmet. I have been accused of being a drunken meat head in my past years. Maybe it was the fact that I was drunk, back on campus and ready to roll but I did a pretty dumb thing.

I grabed the guy by his face mask and threw him into the wall. Everyone, even the people pissing in the trough started cheering and then the guy started swinging at me. I got in a few and others jumped on top of him before it was broken up. It was a totally mean thing to do and will never do it again but I really, really hate this fucking team!!!!
