I really never played fantasy baseball. I've played fantasy football since 2008 and on Yahoo since 2011.

Funny story: 2008 I got the #1 pick and took Tom Brady after his bonkers 2007 season and he got injured for the season in week 1 vs the Chiefs. Never forget.

Okay. I guess that isn't funny. I made the title game that year behind Rivers and Cutler at QB.

League is full, draft time has been set. Seems like a good time to repeat what I said last month:

PLEASE NOTE THE SCORING SYSTEM HAS CHANGED. I'll remind this as the season gets closer, but I read an article about different scoring systems and liked some of the ideas relative to how the game is played today. It also makes us not exactly like a million other leagues, without getting ridiculous about it. AGAIN, CHECK THE SCORING.

I know nothing about picking defensive players for fantasy purposes and what their value is in relation to their offensive couterparts. Is the best defender the equivalent to a middle-of-the pack WR or is he actually valuable like an RB1?

Edit: never mind. After looking at the scoring from last year, the best defender scored 174.50 or, slightly less than Kenny Britt.

You want to take a defensive player with your first pick & a kicker with your second pick.

So what I'm seeing is no PPR, points for first downs, pick sixes will kill you, we'll start two defensive players and points for defensive stops (3 and outs, 4 down stops, tackles for loss.) Everything else seems pretty standard. Is that about right?

Yes, and the only real change from last year - for those returning - is on the offensive side. Everybody does PPR, so when I read about this format I thought it'd be cool to try. The stud guys are pretty much the same in the end, but I like the idea of a first down catch being more important than a 2 yard swing pass on 3rd and 8.

Does anyone else have pet cats? Every year, every sport, I swear I'm not going to draft several of the same guys in all of my leagues but it happens anyway.

As they go, so will my teams...probably...or not.

EDIT: I should add Hunter Henry, although he's my back up TE...in all 4 leagues. I've got the other guys in 3 of them.

I wanted Jordy Nelson solely so I could name my team Rick and Jordy and make this bad boy:

Then I upload it to Yahoo and they turn it into a tiny green nothing. I should've gone AJ Green then Demarco. :sad2:
