Favorite Analyst/Talking Head?

Blackledge is spoiled by the food segments. Probably not his choice.

I like Tirico with a strong compliment.

I love Spielman for the lower-tier games, but he's paired with Mr. Monotone.

Todd Blackledge as far as CFB goes, and it isn't even close. He sees the game well, and doesn't overlook the minor details in games that can make or break a game like 95% of the analysts out there do.....including Blackledge's partner, Mike Patrick, who sees nothing, and misses the entire game.

I'm a fan of Bilas and think Doug Gotlieb is pretty decent. Agree about Greg Anothony...he was easily the best on ESPN, and surprised ESPN let him go. I like Doug Collins in the NBA.

I really can't think of many NFL guys I like.

Forgot about Gotlieb. He's one of the better college basketball guys for sure.

Any idea why ESPN let Greg Anthony go? Was he just not controversial/stupid enough for them or something? :p

I think Mr. Reynolds got into some trouble over some sexual harassment issues.

He hugged a chick from behind and helped himself to a handful fun-bags. It didn't work out so well, and he already had previous transgressions.

But......

He won a pretty penny in a lawsuit against ESPN (either settled or awarded by the courts) because of worse behavior by on-air talent that has gone unpunished or didn't end in termination.

I forget the book, but it came out years ago about behind the scenes activities at ESPN, and it basically made it sound like an around the clock party.

I'm sure things have changed in the politically-correct world of today, but Harold still came out pretty good in the end.

I'm sure most heard the story, but allegedly Shaun Sallisbury took a camera-photo of his junk and text messaged it to a fenale intern. He wasn't fired, although they didn't renew his contract when iy came up. I think that was part of Harold's case.....

Wasn't it those "behind the scenes" activities that helped Suzy Kolber at ESPN?

could be....I've only heard about parts of it....I know Mike Tirico got ripped apart and was basically a stalker of female employees, to the point where he allegedly would follow female empoyees home....

I'm not a big NBA guy but Hubie Brown is an excellent analyst for the NBA game. He knows how to best use the specific rules of the Association in game situations, and articulates well.

I think Troy Aikman has really come along an an NFL analyst, and Clark Kellogg is off to a good start in the game analyst role for CBS hoops.

after watching the Cavaliers game last night I would have to go with Austin Carr for NBA analysis:!

Totally agree regarding Troy Aikman. In my opinion, he is far and away the best analyst for NFL games.

Can't stand Gottlieb, but probably that's a result of the fact he was a dirty rotten cheat when he played.

Love: Jay Bilas, Hubie Brown, Jack Ramsay, Mike Fratello, Dick Vitale, Clark Kellogg, Todd Blackledge, Rod Gilmore, Ross Tucker, Johnny Miller, David Feherty, Joe Morgan.

Play-by-play: best ever IMO in their sports: Tom Hamilton and Mike Lange. I wish Hammy could be talked into replacing Paul Keels, whom I personally do not care for.

This is all entirely subjective, obviously. Vitale especially is one of those guys you either love or hate.

I have really enjoyed the games I've watched with Bobby Knight as the color man. Low on the hyperbole, high on the intelligent observation.
