Favorite Non-OSU Games of All Time

Zurp

I have misplaced my pants.
I thought there was a thread on this somewhere. Maybe it's part of the Appy State - Michigan thread, though. Anyway, I'm not going to rank the games. Others can do that, if they want. I just like seeing a bunch of classic games.

I submit the following:

(I see no problem with the timekeeping. The clock stopped at one second, and I don't think it should have counted down to :00. But Michigan fans are grumpy about it, still.)

Of course, this needs to be here:

(Ourhonordefend also did a 10-minute driveby of the whole game that is worth seeing.)

This one is pretty good:

Michigan and Northwestern played a good one sometime around 2000 maybe? I think I posted it in the Appy State - Michigan thread. I'll find it.

The Buffs Hail Mary was great. Me best friend got married that day and the scUM misery was a nice present from the Buffs.

Another CU game (they're my second favorite team because I married into a family of them) that was awesome was this beat down of the Huskers:

I'm partial to the 2005 Michigan/Penn State game that prevented their undefeated season on a legit call that they still cry about to this day because they don't know any other way of life.

I also like that they think it kept them from playing for a title...when everybody knows there's no fucking way in hell Texas and USC weren't going to be playing in that game even if there were 10 other undefeated teams.

1971 Nebraska #1 vs Oklahoma #2.. Johnny Rogers (1972 Heisman winner) vs Gregg Pruitt (1972 Heisman runner-up)
Numerous players in college hall of fame; numerous All Americans... and almost entire all-conference team
Largest TV audience ever - till that time

Was that the play when the biased Big Ten referees pandered to Lloyd's beggings for 2 seconds? If so, I agree. One of very few Michigan wins that I'd put on my list. I think I saw a replay recently that showed he was right to get those 2 seconds back on the clock, but when I looked on YouTube a few months ago, I couldn't see a good shot that showed why he argued for those 2 seconds, and why he got them back.

Another good one was when Michigan State butt-raped Desmond Howard before he could catch what would have been the winning touchdown pass. Or was it a 2-point conversion? Either way, they're right to complain, and I'm right to laugh at them.

That's the one. There's no question the 2 seconds being put back on the clock was the right call....but don't waste your time telling that to a Penn State fan. If it wasn't for their win over us that year, the first thing out of their mouths when they hear the year 2005 is "2 seconds". As it stands....that's the second thing after "17-10".

Not arguing with you, but I don't see anything that shows the 2 seconds needs to go back on the clock. Go to about 3:40 of the video for the play. He's tackled in bounds with 32 seconds, and I don't hear a whistle to stop the clock until 28 seconds. After a lengthy discussion, they reset the clock to 30 seconds. I know I saw something somewhere, but I don't see it yet.

Huh. My memory is telling me there was some kind of definitive proof that showed LLLLLLLLLLoyd asking for the TO with 30 seconds. I feel like that video had some things cut out of it.....but you're right. Nothing in that clip shows any reason to add the 2 back on. It also doesn't show a reason to not put the 2 back on....so there's that.

BTW....I didn't take your advice and skip to 3:40. I watched the whole damn thing .

Ha - so my video is worthless. Well, not my video - the one I found on youtube. No problem.
However, maybe not the worthliest worthless video ever, because I'd argue that the clock should read :02 at the time of the final play, not :01. So if you can find one more second somewhere in the game, then Lloyd's whinery wouldn't be necessary.

Also, according to the comments of another video showing highlights of that game (it definitely cut out a lot of the :28 to :30 issue), JoePa whined about additional time in the first half and got it. Turnabout is fair play, Dude.
