Favorite piece of sports memorabilia

My favs:
Football signed by about 20 players from the NC team
Football signed by Archie

Probably my overall favorite is a signed Reggie White Packers jersey, which I had framed. My Aunt edited 2 books that Reggie wrote, and she got to know him and his family fairly well. She hooked me up.

While in Tempe for the National Championship I climbed a fence about five feet to rip down a Pep Rally banner....Someone who was there might know what I am talking about....I got it from the OSU Pep Rally.....They were hanging up beside the stage on both sides about 20ft. in the air....Those aren't the ones I actually stole though.....The banner has the OSU and Miami helmet on the sides and in the middle it says "Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Championship 2003"...Across the bottom it says "Pep Rally" real big in red letters....On the bus ride back to the hotel that night a guy offered $200 bones for it...I said hell no...Glad I didn't sell it...One of my favorite memories from that magical season.....

I don't really go looking for memorabilia, I don't really care about autographs. That said, one of my HS teachers had Lou Holtz personally sign a St. Anthony Messenger magazine w/ Holtz on the cover when he was still ND coach, he actually wote as part of his message "maybe someday you will come to believe". I still don't like ND, but I have the magazine framed and hanging on my wall, and I love Lou Holtz.

The program to one of the first Cincinnati Reds games my father ever took me to. Nothing particularly special happened at the game, but when dad passed away in July this year his wife gave me a box with all his game programs in it. In this box among all these highly collectible programs that he had (95 Notre Dame, 97 Rose Bowl, etc) was this P.O.S. Reds program that he still had from one of the first "father-and-son type weekends" we ever enjoyed together.

I once had my own copy of the same program that I trashed probably 25 years ago, but dad still had his in perfect condition tucked away in a box in his den.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this...

But on the OSU Official Team Shop site there is a front page sign that says "Game Worn Jerseys Available For Sale".

I called the team shop and the girl says that they are the 'older' style of Jersey (pre 2006 season). #s 1-49 are selling @ $250 per, and #s 50-99 are $200.

There are no #7s, #10s, etc. She said one 'prevelant' # still in stock is #12. But basically she said people can call in and ask if a particular # is still available and they could tell you.

Not sports memorabilia, but when I was in Ohio a few weeks ago, while going through some of my grandmother's keepsakes I found my father's acceptance letter to OSU. I'm going to frame it! I also have his OSU diploma (College of Optometry '72). My grandmother also gave me a TBDBITL recording (vinyl) from the '60s.

All of my stuff is Detroit Red Wings memorabilia. I've got a few Steve Yzerman autographs, pictures, jerseys, retirement banner, etc. And at the last Detroit vs. Columbus game (in Columbus) I was lucky enough to have Chris Chelios throw me a puck before the game.
