By A. Traieu. Boren says that he is not a lock to Michigan, and that he actually had a much better time at Ohio State. Boren states that although his brother plays at Michigan now, and his father is a Michigan alum, it would be nice to start a new Boren legacy at another school.

-This is a pretty shocking update.

Just a word to the wise before this thread gets going...I would remind everyone to review the forum rules and think about what they are going to say before posting in this thread...anything that toes the line of an attack or making fun of a recruit is going to be instantly deleted.

HotMic,

Here is an honest question amigo. Is this the same younger brother that was "upset" that Justin was even considering tOSU or any other school for that matter, besides scUM?

:oh:

Yes, so much that it would bring him to tears (IIRC). He also sounded a panic alarm on the boards that his bro was slipping away to OSU.

Bizarre indeed. Does he truly prefer OSU despite his fandom, or is he trying to inspire UM to turn up the heat?

Yep, same one that was broken to hear his brother was thinking about Ohio State.

IMO, this is a wake up call to Michigan that they need to start paying attention to him and quit treating him like a given. Still, it's shocking to hear.

I wonder if that story was true. When I heard that one, I assumed the younger brother was around 7 or 8 years old. I don't mean it as an insult, but it's difficult for me to imagine a 14 year old being that emotionally invested in his older brother's college choice.

I'm honestly shocked at reading that...I would have bet the farm he was a stone cold lock.

We had a thread on RP a few weeks ago...

Film of Boren.

My Take: From the film, he was definitely a hardnosed kid, but the lateral quickness and straightline speed were average. He did show a solid change of direction in a few clips, but the hesitation at LB was also obvious. Based solely on that short film, possible FB offer but not sure about his future on defense.

He is still a pup...plenty of time and the bloodline is certainly there.

Uh, wow. :yow1:

That would be an incredible upset to get this one (if he is good enough to get an OSU offer).

180 degree turnaround. But stranger things have happened. I'm sure T.J. Dowling grew up a UM fan too.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty stunned when I read that update myself...eventhough I agree with you...

Stunned is not the word. I just got up off the floor because I fell out of my chair when I read Boren wasn't a laser-engraved-in-granite lock and that he would even think about Ohio State after the tears he shed when his brother was leaning towards us.

I think BucyrusBuckeye and ArmyVet83 may be onto something, in that he may want to put some pressure on the Michigan staff to consider offering him.

Just my opinion, but no way, no how, does this kid end up in scarlet and gray.
