Fire anyone without NCs, except for Pearl, he's swell

BTW if you're ranking basketball programs between about 1970 through 2004, Georgetown is a giant compared to Ohio State. The difference is Thad Matta has provided a stable program with a steady stream of good to great college basketball players.
Yeah, but he lost to Sienna with, arguably with this year, his weakest team. So, you know, fuck him.

I would like for nothing more than to be proved wrong by Matta as this next season he leads the team to a B10 title and actuall a run at the NC, but we all know that's not likely unless Amir, Shannon, Sam, Marc, and Tre improve greatly. We just lost our rock, our leader in Craft, our most talented scorer in Q, a vet and solid defender in Lenzelle. I do not see how this next season will be any better unless. 3 years later and Shannon, Sam, Amir, and Tre really haven't developed as much as we'd need them to win and make a deep run.
Waitwaitwaitwait...What exactly is a "run at" the National title? Wait, what? A trip to the Elite 8 or Final 4? Or the title game? Yeah, he's done that. Multiple times. With different teams of players.

Just admit it...you feel you are entitled to a NC, and nothing else is good enough for you. Nothing. So no amount of winning or success short of finishing #1 every year will pacify you. Which makes you the most unrealistic fan in all of sports.

He does all that on the raw talent he gets, if he actually could turn those raw players into consistent mature future NBA players, we'd probably have a title or two by now. Guess Ohio St football is the only program expected to compete for titles.
Talking out of your ass again..."compete for titles" is something he has done. Multiple times.

So, again...if you don't win national titles at a traditionally middling basketball program within 10 years, you're out.

Disregard the fact that you have taken a sinking program and made them consistently relevent on the national level, and a topic in national title discussions for most of the last 8 years. Forget that you've done it with a clean NCAA record. Forget that you have made a FOOTBALL SCHOOL care about roundball. Forget that national recruits, that in the past wouldn't take tOSU's calls, now actually come here. Forget all that. You didn't win it all, something not done here in 50 years. You're fired, pal. Yeah, that's a recipe for success.

Are you familiar with what has happened to many programs in the past that had a great thing going, but decided it wasn't enough?

Someone clearly wasn't even born at the end of the Randy Ayers debacle.

Matta, great recruiter, mediocre talent developer and in game coach. I will stick by this til he proves me wrong.
Since NBA stars seems to be your benchmark, lets looks at some of Matta's "failures."

- Terrance Dials: Never considered a high end NBA prospect by any measure.
- Greg Oden: Picked #1 after outstanding freshman year. Knee problems wrecked his career. Clearly Matta's fault.
- Mike Conley: High draft pick after freshman year. Has developed into a solid NBA PG. Good job, Thad!
- Daequan Cook: 6th man on 2007 team. Left way too early for the NBA. Could shoot, but did little else. Dammit, Matta. You should have had him ready in one year.
- David Lighty: Definition of a "tweener." Energy/hustle guy with physical limitations. Thad, you should have coached him into growing another 4" and 30 pounds.
- Kosta Koufos: Was solid in one year on team decimated by early NBA entrants. Could have used a lot more time in college, though to gain experience, refine his skills. Your fault, Thad. Shoulda made him Dirk Nowitzki in those 35 games.
- BJ Mullens: 6th man on a retooling team. Left school after one year because he needed the money. Thad, you had 33 games to make him an NBA All Star. WTF, man?
- John Diebler: Shooter. That's it. Physical/athletic limitations kill his NBA stock. Thad, you could have at least shot some HGH into his buttcheeks to make him faster/stronger. Christ.
- Deshaun Thomas: Great college scorer. But had tweener size and lacked athleticism/speed for necessary versatility to be legit nba prospect. Thad, come on man. Couldn't you have willed him into another 2-3" and foot speed?
- Jared Sullinger: Matta couldn't even heal his back. What a bum.

So, Matta's really elite recruits pretty much all left after a year. The one that stuck around for 2 years had a bum back. Another hung around for three years, but lacked key traits that make a player attractive to the nba.

This guy can't even make players grow, more athletic, or heal injuries. What a loser. FIRE HIM NOW!!!1!!11!!

National Titles, World Series, and Super Bowls are not Birthrights. Just because you invest as a fan in a team you are entitled to nothing. AC, Thad Matta are the ones who do the work and they earn what they get. I*f you want a title be a bandwagon jumper..Kentucky and Connecticut had room for you a month ago.
