Not sure why EVERYONE hates on MSU (not just here, but many of the experts), seeing as they have always overachieved in the tourney. Here are mine for the first round...

Utep over Utah
Iowa over Cinci
NCState over Charlotte
UCLA over Texas Tech
St. Mary's over Southern Illinois

Final Four:
Ok State
Louisville
Connecticut
Duke

I can't believe everyone is counting on Illinois to lose. They play either Texas or Nevada who they should handle very easily and then they play in the United center. They might as well play at champaign. They have won 13 in a row there.

Also I don't think Zona or Okie st. match up well with them.

I see people predicting an early Washington loss, but there's only ONE team with a better won-loss record than the Huskies since January 17, 2004. That one team is Illinois.

I like NC State, UTEP, UCLA and ODU in first round upsets. Recall MSU got knocked out in the first round by Nevada last year. A 12 seed always seems to win, but I don't like their chances this year. If I had to pick one, it would be New Mexico over Villanova.

I think the field is set well for everybody's Cinderella - Gonzaga - to make a run. They've already beaten Washington once this season.

From the ones I can remember, I picked New Mexico over 'Nova, UAB over LSU, and that's about the extent of my upets I think. That's the only 5/12 game I see being an upset.

I had some other upsets like Charlotte going to at least the Sweet 16, same with New Mexico.

I'm 4-4 so far...I never really questioned that Pitt would lose because of how they fell apart at seasons end. Pacific is a good team and has been on a roll the last two seasons really. I have UW-Mil going to the sweet 16, so I still have a little sweating to do. I picked BC over Penn, but I wouldn't be upset to lose that one, because I want the Panthers in the 3rd round.

I have 6/8 so far. My misses are Iowa- UC and Pacific- Pitt. I am right on everything else so far.

My other upsets are Creigton over WVU, New Mexico over Villanova, NC. St. over Charlotte, and Miss. St. over Stanford

My final four are Illinois, Washington, Kansas, and MSU.

I have Illinois beating up on Kansas in the championship. Only one team can beat the Illini this year :biggrin:
