2018 FL DB Tyson Campbell (Georgia Signee)

Turned on his highlights and wow great athlete to potentially add to the secondary. Great make up speed, diagnoses run plays and collapses quickly, not afraid of contact and just tall and fast. Could play either CB or S at the next level but with his physicality and range, I like him at safety especially with the CB talent we already have. Probably a tough pull from FL with an already talented stable of DBs and not sure how the TG situation effects the whole situation.

On a track without hurdles, Ted was very good but not rare.

In pads, no one outclasses Ted at any level. Very few are even similar (Green is a good suggestion).

You're forgetting a gentleman by the name of "Neon" Deion Sanders... TG is and will always be a legend in the eyes of Buckeye fans, but his speed was seen by a number of players throughout the country
Sorry for getting more off track8D.

Agree with his versatility and ability to play both CB and S. The DB class is South FL is loaded with talent this year. I think Campbell and Houston Griffith play similar styles, both larger CBs who can play S.

I'm quite familiar with Neion. I would not put any of the 3 below another.

Ted wasn't the fastest track guy on the buckeye team. They weren't within miles of him in pads.

There are a small number of players who are similar in the first 20-40 yards. Where Ted is ludicrous is the 6th and 7th gear he hits after breaking free.

Birm and Andrew Ellis (11W) CBed Campbell to the good guys... I'm Reluctant to get excited about OSU insider CBs, because it seems a bit "homerish", IMO(I may be wrong, just my opinion). I trust Birm, but my ears would perk up if insiders from Miami, FSU, LSU, etc CBed him to OSU. Nevertheless we're in the thick of it for Campbell

Campbell is the #1 remaining defensive target on my board for '18. He's truly one of the fastest HS juniors I've ever seen. Then throw in that he's 6'3, a hard hitter, has good ball skills, plays on a great team against great competition... forget about it.

Cough cough, Micah Parsons ...
But yeah, Tyson looks amazing! Perfect blend of size and speed that Coombs likes at CB. I just don't know how Miami fits him in their class, already having 5 DBs and definitely making room for Al Blades. Not to mention OSU track record with DBs getting drafted and competing on much bigger stages than Miami.

Parsons, Cook, Surtain Jr., White.. Those guys are all so good and near the top of my list, but we saw the effect having a freak in centerfield can have on a defense. I think Campbell + Coach Mick could result in a 6'3, 210 nightmare safety for opposing offenses. Even though we have 2 safeties in the class, I have my doubts that Woodbey ends up at DB (reminds me so much of Lee coming out and is already 6'2, 210) or that he even ends up at Ohio State at this point.

All that said, it's equally exciting to me to think about what he could do at WR alongside Grimes. That talent and versatility has me hoping he's a Buckeye.

To further the discussion though, we as Buckeye fans also know how the effect can be by having a devastating pass rush(I.e. 2006 NC).
But I would love as much as anyone to see Campbell in this class. His versatility would allow him to play either CB or S, like a Jordan Fuller, where he's long enough and big enough to play S but has the cover skills of a CB. its a good argument to be having
