FL DB Wayne Lyons (Stanford Signee)

Yeah, it's not Florida or Southern California but I think that "northern schools" get a bad rap for weather during football season. Yes, winters can be harsh. But, this is football season.

Weather Averages:
Aug: 84 F
Sept: 78 F
Oct: 66 F
Nov: 52 F

Yeah, November can have some downright miserable weather but September and October is pretty good. Some games can have some rough weather but some games are great. I'm sure the southern schools have some obliterating-ly hot early games.

The OSU/UM game in 2006 was at night and weather was chilly but I'm sure most people don't remember the temperatures that night!

Thats because many of us were wearing our beer blankets, lol :tongue2:

Seriously though, you can't say enough good things about this kid! The more I read about him, the more I like him and plan on rooting for him wherever he goes. Any athlete that's compared to Myrone Rolle is definitely a unique one(and I mean that in a very good way). True scholar athletes are hard to find, and I hope he holds true to his academics when he hits a college campus. I wish you the best of luck Wayne, hopefully you're a Buckeye, if not I'm sure you'll make any school(coaches and teachers alike) very glad that you signed with them

Heavy emphasis on the academics side of his process as he is currently #1 in his class.

LOVE THIS. One of the most underrated qualities in a recruit. The way things are nowadays...this is a blessing to have in a player. That generally carries over into character which is also becoming a bigger factor (by the season) in college athletes. Also massively helps with leadership. Heck...any real Buckeye fan knows Craig Krenzel might not have had the physical tools, but look where his smarts got us. I really want this kid.

Hey I really want the whole family. You have to love the positive involvement, interest, and all around support his mother (Gwen Bush) is providing.

The state of Florida has seven safeties in the ESPNU 150. - ESPN

Safeties to watch

Wayne Lyons (Oakland Park, Fla./Dillard) has been proactive in his national recruitment with the questionnaires he has sent to college coaches and for good measure. The safety prospect will be a prize recruit for the program that lands him. We feel he projects best as a strong safety thanks to his great physicality and tackling skills he displays as an underneath defender. However, what makes Lyons so coveted is his ability to also cover, particularly in zone schemes, with great closing burst and overall range. It will be interesting to see how he is utilized in college.

Rivals$--Lyons taking significant look at Ole Miss

Wayne discusses his serious interest in Ole Miss and possibly taking an official visit to Oxford.

Funny to read this after the article (Goetz) about Lyons and other talented Florida players making the trip through the south and Mississippi. Those student aids might make anyone give serious thought to Old Miss.
