2020 FL RB Jaylan Knighton (Miami Verbal)

Rumor is Taggart and FSU are negotiating a buy-out. With Taggart out, I wonder if Knighton comes back into play. He's my favorite back in this class. Hope it swings back towards us once the Willie Taggart situation blows up.

It's also great how much attention JK Dobbins is getting in Day's offense. I think the one perceived knock against Day, was that the QB and WR's would get all the love, but obviously JK and Master Teague even, are dispelling that every game. If you're Knighton, I'd think you'd certainly have to reconsider.

any concern with the kid looking at that dumpster fire at FSU and saying "yep, that's for me" the first time?

I hadn’t seen anything on it, but I highly doubt he lands at FSU....and I’m an FSU grad. Kid has serious talent....any adult that allows him to end up at place like FSU currently, is really hindering his future opportunities IMO. I don’t care if it’s OSU or elsewhere.....it’d be a shame to see him end up in the dumpster fire that is Tallahassee.

If they hire the right guy (PJ Fleck) maybe I’d reconsider. But the names floating around are really underwhelming (Mark Stoops primarily).

Pj would work well there I think and best yet for him he ends up in a recruiting hot bed. All the while he gets to play in a trash conference with 1 good team.

I’m trying to sell FSU on the idea, but they aren’t that receptive. Think it needs to a be a southern guy with ties to the area.....which is how they landed on Taggart.

Criteria #1....can you coach? Cause Willie has connections, but he’s a miserable coach.

You can go for the 'Xs & the Os' or you can go for the Joes.....plagerized that one.....Hope PJ stays at Minny, and there's too much coaching talent with ties to Florida for a reach like that. Probably another Bama Asst....

Fleck doesn’t have ties to Florida, but the guy can recruit. He led MAC in recruiting rankings, including his first year as coach in which his team went 1-11.

Still landed best class of any team in MAC. Then he goes to Northern Illinois and turns them into a legit top 15 team.

That guy will outwork anyone, and he’s shown it time and again. I think the fit as FSU is a little odd, but if you have him the keys I think he’d have them in the top 10-15 with 2 years, and laid the foundation to compete for ACC titles with Clemson. Just my opinion....

The other names I’m seeing make me want to cry.

The running game has certainly impressed.That, and if he also wants to be surrounded by loads of talent.

If Fleck has no recruiting ties to FL, hes not coaching at a FL school, point blank. No one cares about the MAC in FL. Like someone stated, itll most likely be a Bama, LSU or southern school assistant.
And I doubt Willie gets canned with a $17m buyout owed this year if he does

And to bring it back to Knighton, he can still make it to the NFL from a dumpster fire program. Happens all the time. I'd like to flip him in November or December though

Not to mention he's put together some of the Gophers best recruiting classes too. He remimds me of Urban to be honest a little. Yeah he has his gimmicks but it's who he really is.

I honestly think he would do very well at a big school like OSU.
