2020 FL RB Jaylan Knighton (Miami Verbal)

FWIW FSU has hired Bob Stoops....not sure when it gets announced publicly, but its a done deal. As an FSU alum, I'm pretty disappointed. Very lazy hire.....

If I were an FSU fan I would be equally disappointed.

I mean, he was burned out 3 years ago, now they think he's got the fire it will take to rebuild that mess? At 60.

Even if he can pull that off, "Big Game Bob" was not a complimentary moniker.

Made it to the interwebs so it must be true:
Bob Stoops could become the next head coach of Florida State football in the near future, according to sources. We've heard the announcement could come as early as the end of this week or early next week, and that a deal is really close to being done.
. . .
Along with Stoops taking over as head coach, sources said that Kendal Briles will remain on staff as offensive coordinator, while Jim Leavitt would be retained as defensive coordinator. The source went on to say that with keeping Briles on staff as offensive coordinator, it could turn into a head coach in waiting role. Stoops is 59, would want to groom a successor before he retires.

If it's Bob Stoops, I'd guess that's about the best they could hope for, but like Jax said, dude is almost 60 and was burnt out 2 years ago. Does he have a near total rebuild in him?

And I'm guessing he isn't coming on for under $5M a year. That on top of Taggart's buyout is a lot of fucking money for what will probably be a program that tops out at 10-3.

Him visiting potentially would definitely be different
Him “looking to visit” is a lot different than them wanting him to visit. Similarly to him maintaining contact versus the coaches actively reaching out.

It’s worded in a way that is still in line with the insider reports that he has been trying to mend fences and Ohio State hasn’t been interested.
