2020 FL RB Jaylan Knighton (Miami Verbal)

Anyone choosing to play for Taggart I just Have to question his decision making skills

Willie is a good dude. Was def in over his head last year, but they brought in Kendall Briles to call plays this year. Their offense will improve.

The problem for FSU fan is, if FSU kicks it into gear this year, Briles has a HC Jon next off-season.

So it’s a bit weird.....but most programs are facing these challenges all over the country.

Wanted Knighton in the class but doesn't feel like a "loss". Felt too good to be true and as a matter of fact, it was. No reason to be bitter or disappointed at all here. My only real beef is that I think Drennen is every bit as good and it looks like we took a flier on Knighton and it didn't work out.

I truly believe Ohio State was still in the ears of other exceptional backs. It's not like Knighton was a 100% lock even when the crystal balls leaned towards Ohio State. I just can't fathom a scenario where the coaching staff shut down recruitment at RB because they were sure that Knighton and Robinson would stick until December or February. It's July. You don't stop recruiting all your targets in July.

This idea that Knighton was, is, and always will be Ohio State's must-get at APB that we "whiffed" on just seems like the usual "the sky is falling" attitude some fans get when something non-positive happens. The reality is, unless someone has actual inside knowledge of Ohio State's Recruiting Board, we really have no clue who the coaching staff has been looking at, and why. When a recruit names you a favorite and he's a guy you'd take ... of course you push for him. That doesn't mean he's the ONLY guy the staff has as a take and is pursuing. Because obviously, things change in recruiting (Knighton was an OU commit, afterall).

I feel confident this staff has identified other targets that they are pushing whom will no doubt have the ability to come in an compete for playing time. I just don't see us coming up empty handed if the staff wants to take some RBs. Especially given how deep this class is. A lot of top RB talent left on the board and plenty of time to potentially flip.

We'll be fine and RB is an easy position to recruit if you miss on a target. But the staff did put Knighton over Drennen and now we won't get Drennen because of it, who is a local talent that imo will be a star at the next level. It's far from over at the RB position, just stings a little bit to lose Knighton when we had an equivalent talent in our own backyard. This class is incredibly stacked though and we have plenty of time and options though at the position.

I wonder if these FSU prospects are watching the games. Sure would love to be a fly on that wall...

Birm, and many others, absolutely do have knowledge of what the OSU coaches plans are and what their recruiting board looks like. OSU will be fine but they did in fact swing and miss on their top targets at RB.

It has nothing to do with sky is falling hysterics.

Guys, there's no shame in losing at home to the smurfs, is there?

People in this city drive around with license plates that say "Our turf is blue". That is actually true, I've seen it. And that same team beat FSU last night. I'm not a Donkey State fan by any means, but its awesome. Probably has no bearing on what Knighton does, but that team is a dumpster fire right now.
