The staff has gotten hit in the mouth in a well discussed few RB misses. Their answer seems to be to just load up with OL talent, play smash mouth football, get great WRs and QBs to go with a creative offensive philosophy and let RB production come as a result of that rather than trying to rely solely on an “elite” RB.

Here’s the thing, if that’s your attitude and you do end up signing elite RBs then.......great! But if you only get “good” RBs then it will be just fine.

Control the trenches in both sides. Get elite QBs and WRs and the rushing production will come.

I personally think that’s what this season of offense can be called. The O Line is looking really good to me. Dobbins and Teague are really good backs but perhaps not what you might call elite and the offense looks really solid to me.

I think Dobbins is elite. We shall see about Teague.

Like what ShowMeBuck had to say.....have a superior OL and I could probably gain 5 yards a carry.....not really....a superior RB isn't going anywhere without a hole or two, but a so-so RB can gain quite a few if there's a hole with an OL putting a hat on the MLB. Besides, the RBs today (it seems to me), are quick around the edge of the HS kids, but maybe not so much against top level D-1 ends/cbs. Blast from the past....Woody always had two 'book-end' tackles, and those recruited that didn't have the 'feet'/quicks became guards. tOSU seemed to do pretty well that way. Go Bucks!
