Later, while the Aquinas was up 10-3 and looking to pad its lead on the nation's No. 1 team, Grimes injured his left leg in the end-zone on a play where Ohio State target Bubba Bolden picked off his second pass of the night.

From the O-Zone:

Grimes' injury is serious, but also routine. He is expected to be ready for his freshman season at Ohio State. Current Buckeye freshman Nick Bosa suffered a torn ACL last year, but did it a month further into the season than Grimes. The OSU coaching staff brought him along slowly and he played in the season opener against Bowling Green.

Tough break for Trevon, he was on his way to a huge season. He looked great in the BG game, he should have had 3-4 deep TD's but kept getting interfered with and/or overthrown...it was not because he was being covered. But alas, he has brighter days ahead in the S&G, hopefully he is healthy and ready to go by fall camp.

Five-star wide receiver commit Trevon Grimes had surgery to repair his torn ACL on Tuesday (Oct 18) morning. According to his Twitter and to reports, the surgery was a success and Trevon is doing well. If rehab goes well, as it should, Trevon will be a factor next fall and could push for playing time as a true freshman. Here’s hoping to a speedy recovery for the future Buckeye.
