2021 FL WR Troy Stellato (Clemson Verbal)

Not many routes on that highlight tape. His burst and athleticism are both on display throughout. Just didn’t run many routes.

Watched his film again, as I’m trying to “get it” here. I can say that although he didn’t run many routes, he catches everything with his hands. Not one body catch on that tape. For a HS kid, that almost never happens.

STELLATO EARNS FIVE-STAR CHALLENGE INVITE

Troy Stellato continues to shine on the recruiting trail, and on Sunday, the four-star junior receiver from Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.) High School impressed at the Rivals Camp Series in Miami, earning himself an invitation to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge this summer.

Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame and Georgia continue to be among the programs recruiting Stellato the hardest – though Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Alabama, USC and North Carolina are the teams in the top six he released on Christmas Day.

Day and Brian Hartline visited Cardinal Gibbons two Fridays ago (Jan. 31) on the second-to-last day of the latest contact period.

“We talked to Brian and Coach Day,” Cardinal Gibbons head coach Matt DuBuc told Eleven Warriors on Sunday. “Hartline, as soon as he got the job there, he was coming down here. Hartline’s been at our school over the last three years. He’s been here probably a dozen times. We know him well. We knew Coach Day from way back in the day. They’re a class act; both of them.

“I think that they, obviously coming down here, recognize the talent Troy has – just like all the other coaches. But Ohio State has been typically on top of the food chain for a long, long time. I guess with Coach Day being in charge there, he’s even moving it to another level and doing a little bit more than Coach (Urban) Meyer did as far as the passing game.”

We will have more on Stellato’s recruitment later this week.

“Physically, if you look at him, he’s in really good shape,” Cardinal Gibbons head coach Matt DuBuc told Eleven Warriors. “You don’t have to tell him twice. He goes in there and does his work. We’re hoping – he’s such a competitor on the field. We want him to be a competitor when it comes to taking care of him being a leader. That’s a skill that some people are born with and some people can have and develop. He’s developing pretty quick with that."

“He’s a good blocker. It’s like anything else, we can always be better at everything we do. We’re not gonna be satisfied with what you see on the highlight film because that’s what it is – highlight film,” DuBuc said. “Has he missed a block? Yeah. Has he pancaked somebody? Sure. The super challenge is build off of what you’ve done day-to-day, practice-to-practice and then game-to-game and when it’s all said and done, you’ve got a nice library of plays. Physically, he’s 6-foot or 6-1; 180 or 185, and he runs fast. He’s got a huge catch radius, and he’s a big competitor. He checks all the boxes.”
