Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

Definitely agree. People hate Carroll, but the guy has been squeaky clean in terms of handling his players and program.

Well, we couldn't wait for our new West Coast moderator to defend his #1 guy, he's been hitting the "Olive Vodka plus Welch's Strawberry Breeze" a little hard lately. :wink2:

Hey y'all... just because someone is accused of rape, whether they are guilty or not or whether they are a football player or not, the decision to suspend him was the RIGHT one. There needs to be a thorough investigation & it doesn't make a difference if there is a big game coming up. This is serious business.

I agree that the fact that he's a football player should have no bearing on his punishment. (Although, how does Bowden suspend someone who isn't a football player?) I just don't like that a simple accusation can get someone suspended. I think that guilty people should be suspended, and unless there is proof of that guilt, he should not be suspended (except for the fact that he "broke team rules"). And the fact that he was in trouble another time for a similar offense has no weight, in my opinion, on this situation.

I agree that this is serious business. But I do not agree with punishing people for a simple allegation. There is a very good chance that Bowden knows more about this than I do. It may be proven, in Bowden's eyes, that the guy is guilty. In that case, his suspension is the right thing to do.

I am not saying that Bowden did the wrong thing. In fact, he probably did the right thing. I just don't like it when someone, anyone, is accused of something and people are ready to throw the guy in jail. I'd like to see that he's guilty before saying he deserves X or Y punishment.

He is not being suspended for this game due to the accusation but rather that he broke some team rules. I assume they coincided with his big night out.

Correct.

Before anyone dislocates a shoulder patting Burger King Bobby on the back for finally disciplining a player remember this guys been arressted TWICE this year alone.

I dislike PSU as much as anyone, but mentioning Bowden in the same breath as Paterno is an absolute insult.
