I have a strange feeling that Coach Snyder is going to prove to be a better defensive coordinator that Coach Dantonio. I love the guy, but thought our defensive could have been better (yes, I know that's saying a lot as good as they were). He got too lax late in the game with his play calling, allowing teams to get back into the game. Coach Snyder has admitted he's not going to the prevent so early and will attack the offense more. I guess my biggest problem with Dantonio is the fact that he pulled in the reins on the defense so early. Why? If you attack for three quarters and shut a team down and the offense builds a 17 point lead, why change things? You've already proven the opposition can't move or score on you and you don't want to give up the big play. Instead, they drive down the field picking up 10 yards a play, building momentum, and get back into the game. I really hope we don't see any more of this. How in the f**k can you not list Mark Dantonio among the top defensive masterminds,
Let me be the voice of reason here - take off those S&G glasses for a moment please. The guy is anything but a fraud. Yes we shut him down. Does that mean he is a fraud? He had a bad game and our D shut him down. Don't you think players have bad games? What about our D last year vs that stink hole up north? Was our D a "fraud" because of one bad game vs scUM.? of course not.honor_defend said:Herbie does try hard not to seem a homer. He probably did screw up with Dantonio and Hawk...what I can't figure out is why even Herbie drools over Sproles from KSU.
He's not the only one and I can't quite figure out what was so great about him other than he piled up a lot of yards in the Pig12. How many yards did he get against us? Less than 50 or something like that. Sproles is a fraud and the Buckeyes exposed him...and the rest of K-State for that matter.
I wouldn't trade our freshmen's 4 years of playing for his 1 either, but that is only because of possible future potential - Sproles has already used most of his up. You could and I will make the argument that I would probably take Sproles 4 years of production over our freshmen's future 4 years. I think there is just too much uncetainty with freshmen to predict greatness. I'll take the proven guys over the prospects nearly every time. I agree also that he won't do much in the league - a lot of GREAT college guys never do.FKAGobucks877 said:Yeah, what Buckstocks said. Except I wouldn't trade either one of our Frosh for him, simply because they each have 4 years of eligibility left. Yeah, I know they haven't proven anything, but they very well could by the end of the year.
I do not think Sproles is over-rated, but I also do not think he's going to play very well, or very long, on Sundays. He's just too little.
