Fox Sports 1 (at least its not ESPN)

I'm not the biggest fan of Cowherd, but I've always enjoyed his honesty. He used to (and probably still does) admit that he's driven by ratings. He's going to say things to get a reaction out of people and get more people to listen. All of the good radio show hosts do it. He's just honest about it.

You really think the bevy of regular callers are not aware of the role they are playing? I expect most are quite aware and gladly embrace the role of buffoon for a tiny bit of celebrity.

Some of the regulars definitely are.
That said, those 2 women sound like -- while they're aware it's a schtick -- they don't have to put on an act. I have a feeling they just found an outlet for their brand of crazy that came with notoriety.
The thrust of the show is evidently embraced down there and not far off the mark either -- Finebaum reinforces their silly notions one day, and makes light of them the next. It's not like we haven't all heard countless SECU fans say the same exact stuff about how the 8th best team in SEC would go undefeated in the B1G for years.
Phyllis could stop calling one day and he'd find somebody equally delusional the next.

Finebaum's tribal brand of anger-radio is what gives the Harvey Updykes of the world motivation to poison the trees at Toomer's Corner and call in to brag. I think one of the regulars being whipped into a frenzy to the point of murder is rapidly becoming a question of when, not if. Tammy is the most loony toons of them all, I'm actually frightened people like her are out there. Would not be shocked if Finebaum, Cowherd, or some other caller eventually does something to set her off and she starts getting stabby. She's an Edwin from The Fisher King.

Via Bucknuts:
Ohio State was No. 1 again in both the AP and Coaches polls this week. But it seems safe to say that FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt didn’t have a vote.

Appearing on "The Herd," and picking upsets for this week, Klatt picked Penn State to knock off the Buckeyes, calling Ohio State “no good this year.”

“You look at what Ohio State has done, and Penn State I think is going to get them," Klatt said. "I really do.”

To be fair, Ohio State wasn’t the only Big Ten favorite Klatt didn’t like this weekend.

“Michigan’s going to beat Michigan State, probably bad,” Klatt said.

Between Klatt and Cowherd, I'm surprised the studio could handle that amount of douchiness. Klatt is the same moron who said before the season that Harbaugh was the best coach in college football.

Also, unfortunately, the Associated Press does give Klatt a vote.
