Fox Sports 1 (at least its not ESPN)

I do, if they show Erin Andrews's tits.

Sure, you get to fight in the Breastriary and swim in the fountains of Varnov with the itty titty fairies of Mammary Mountain. And then you fight the boob goblin in the gazongas cave, and then the girl may thank you for it. But she. Isn't. Real. ...And you never really get a good look at her naked boobs anyway. Problem is, the more you go into that world, the more you need to go.

BTN's Saturday morning show is pretty good and informative. But I need Ohio State or Big Ten specific information, so that's why I watch it.

Until the Big Ten signs with FOX, if they sign with FOX, I don't really see a need to watch Erin Andrews and Co. on that pregame/postgame show.

"FOX Sports Live" with Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole is something I'll watch, but I'll stop if FOX decides it needs to generate headlines by trolling subjects (kinda like hiring Clay Travis to perhaps troll).

so Clay Travis is guaranteeing no OSU fan will watch Fox Sports pre game...

I don't know how many people would watch the pregame show to begin with (regardless if he's trolling the Ohio State fanbase, which it's obvious he is). The FS1 pregame show is directly opposite "College Gameday" and Erin Andrews isn't that great of a host.

Having an internet blogger on the show also doesn't add a great dynamic, so when executives re-tool the show due to poor ratings, he'll probably one of the ones to go (and they'll have poor ratings).

I always watch the pregame show on BTN, just because it's conference specific and, honestly, the "trolling" is at a minimum.

The problem with going opposite GameDay is that ESPN at least has the cachet of being on the campuses of a premier matchup, so its become a bit of a Saturday morning institution in itself. The real glaring hole in the broadcast in recent years has become Corso's post-stroke condition.

I think ESPN would have a ratings wrecking ball on their hands if they'd realize less is more and cut the fluff of the 'embrace debate' studio show. Dump Fowler, May, and Corso and just broadcast on-site with Rece Davis, Lou Holtz, Howard and Herbstreit all day.

It sounds like FS1 has decided to compete head to head with the "annoying jackasses arguing loudly and trolling fanbases" model that ESPN has perfected rather than offering an alternative for everyone who has grown sick of that.

Highly disappointing.

ESPN is bleeding viewers because of that BS and FS1 isn't going to pick any of them up by doing the same thing. If someone likes watching that crap they are going to watch ESPN for it, not FS1. What a terrible hire in Clay Matthews and a terrible direction to seemingly take the new network in.

Exactly what I was thinking and I don't know if college football is one of those sports where they cater to uneducated idiots who don't know any better (and don't pay attention to the day-to-day news).

If ESPN would cover events/sports like it does world soccer events (World Cup), people would have a lot more respect for the organization. Viewers could take a hit, but they don't really 'troll' on their soccer coverage (because there are Euro's on the broadcast).

I wish FOX would play it straight-up, but they're not going to because they're trying to be fun.

The only caveat is, I might be watching "FOX Sports Live" on a daily basis, if they let Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole do what they do.

I don't think Clay Travis will last that long at Fox...and as long as he's on their network I won't watch it.

I'll just continue watching BTN's coverage. It's all football, no stupid rumor mongering or un-substantial dramatic BS. If they bring up suspensions etc. it's to talk about how the team on the field will adjust. Between BTN and MLB Network I don't need to watch anything else for sports. The other options pale in comparison anyway.

MLB Network hires some goofs (Reynolds, Williams, Millar) but counters it by having sabre centric guys like Brian Kenny. And Millar, Reynolds and Williams can be useful when talking about strategy and what goes through player's heads, so they aren't completely useless. Clay Travis provides absolutely nothing. He can't provide in depth strategy, I doubt anyone sources trust him enough to give him inside information. He exists solely to drive controversy. That's it. ESPN already caters to the lowest common denominator, FS1 should go in the other direction and beat ESPN with professionalism, analysis and not treating their viewers like they're idiots.

If they were smart they would hire the guy who does smart football and get a couple of well spoken, retired HC's. The Clay Travis hire speaks volumes about what direction they're planning on going in. And if that's where they're going they're going to fail. I don't need another network where I pray half the people on it trip and fall on a pile of knives. And there's already an ESPN2. I have no idea what they're thinking.

I agree osuk; Clay can get away with vulgar, immature bile in his current role but fox won't put up with that level of classlessness if they hope to paint themselves as a true brand. You can trill all day long but the endless parade of sexual vitriol will come back to bite him.

I don't really have high hopes for FOX Sports 1, because if you look at FOXSports.com, the website has evolved into a gossip column on par with TMZ.

There doesn't seem to be any redeeming value of going to FOX Sports' website. If the TV channel follows the website's lead, it will just be another version of 'First Take' mixed with TMZ.

People will watch FS1 because of the live sports, but I'm going to guess every feature show will just be a "Best Damn Sports Show" clone.

Somehow Sky Sports New in England -- another News Corp. property -- plays most things straight.
