richardson, i believe, was on cincy's IR last season. kyle larson, a rookie from nebraska, was cincy's starting punter last season, bra. regardless of richardson's injury, it was said that larson would was ahead of him in the depth chart in going into the '04-'05 season.

I cant believe someone would sign Holcomb.
I personally have never thought to highly of the guy, and I was very critical of the move to start him last season.

Just read in today's paper, the browns are looking at FA guard Keydrick Vincent of Pittsburg... he visited the browns today (Tues.)

Browns are said to like Vincent (6-5, 325) who started all 16 games and the two playoff games for the Steelers last season

he cancelled his visit when he learned about coleman's deal.

In an age of teams looking to make the "big splash" the Browns have quietly had one of the best off-seasons in the NFL.

By getting rid of Garcia, Griffith, Warren and Brown we got rid of a group of underacheivers with big time salaries.

Our biggest offseason need? INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE!!! We not only addressed the need, but we vastly improved the entire offense with the signings of Andruzzi and Coleman at Guard.

With Henry and Sanders gone, we needed a big-time physical corner to play opposite cover man McCutcheon and Gary Baxter fits that mold. Although we may have overpaid, we needed a quality corner in the worst way. We should be looking for another in the first 5 rounds of the draft.

Kyle Richardson, if healthy, will help us win the field position battle. While frost had a good leg, he was inconsistent and couldn't pin the opposition deep.

Jason Fisk was a DT pickup just because we need one in the worst way to play the 3-4, rest assured the D-Line will be our weakness in 2005.

Matt Stewart is a sure-tackler that knows his role and is a versatile guy that is experienced in the 3-4 and will help other players fit in. Re-signing Andra Davis was HUGE, he will be an All-Pro soon.

Finally, there are a lot of opinions on Trent Dilfer and I will be the first to say he will NOT take us to the top...he's simply not that talented. That being said, he is exactly what this team needs right now. We need leadership, a guy to guide young QB's and a guy who won't make the big mistakes. In Couch, Holcomb, Garcia and McCown you had guys that had the potential to look spectacular but that you knew would blow it on the line. They'd fumble a snap, throw a pick in coverage, overthrow a receiver or take a sack. A lot of things can be said about Dilfer, but he doesn't have a history of giving away games. If we lose, it will be a team effort.

This team is a long way away, but Crennel and Savage are going in the right directions.

Baltimore has until Wednesday to match the offer for Taylor, a restricted free agent, Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz said. If the Ravens decline, the Browns would owe the Ravens a sixth-round draft pick.

Taylor was selected in the sixth round by the Ravens in 2003 when Browns general manager Phil Savage was Baltimore's player personnel director.

As Jamal Lewis' backup last season, Taylor ran for 714 yards, two touchdowns. He had 100-yard games three times while starting in Lewis' place.

Taylor would likely compete with Lee Suggs for the starting job in Cleveland. His addition would allow the Browns to release Green, who has been given permission to seek a trade.
