Yes, I've been out drinking, but I just don't accept the reasons for Sniper's ban. Given what he has to put up with in enemy territory, I think he is deserving of a Clarity pardon. Yes, he does get a little chippy from time to time, but it's what keeps the blood flowing on the board, especially during the off season. And Lord knows, we're not easy fans to get along with. We should no more ban Sniper than NDChief (and they have a lot in common, coaches I can't stand and delusionally optimistic fanbases)

It is only the better angels of my nature that I am not banned...that, and the fact that we don't play each other that often. :biggrin: If we did, I'd have more than the one yellow card I have, as my brain can accept the fact that I am on a rival's site, but my heart can only take so much Gator bashing.

When I have been jumped on for my reptile heritage, I have been defended by the regulars to a greater extent than a scUM fan would, I am guessing.

So I have to put in a word for non-Scarlet and Gray clad members losing their cool.

('Course, I have just shut it off and walked away a few times too, knowing I was about to ruin a good visit on here by speaking my mind- but again - the animus over UF is not even in the same universe as scUM's, so maybe it is not my "control" but a lack of provocation....dunno )

There's "chippy" and there's psychotic. He went from being a level-headed, rational, objective poster to a argumentive punk-assed little shit in a few months. He has called members "fucking imbecile" and sent PMs totally trashing Tressel.

Free Sniper? Why?

I have to agree with the comments Mili expressed in this thread, which I think are widely shared. Sniper went from being a fairly objective poster to someone not very welcome around here. Are we a homer board? Yes. There have been a number of fans who have built up substantial rep here from visiting teams. Methomps is an example that being homers doesn't mean others aren't welcome.

When you visit a fan site devoted to passionate fans from your rival team, especially your rival in the top rivalry in all of sports, then you have to be prepared to check your passion at the door. Sniper is welcome to post those derogatory comments about the Buckeyes, Tressel, and posters...he just has to post them on a TSUN fan site.

Sniper was warned repeatedly by the mods to cut the nonsense. He chose not to do so. His banning was not a surprise to him.
