Gholston and Lyons were in at the end of the game, and on the last kickoff I'm pretty sure I saw SirJo Welch.

I saw Dukes and Haw on the sidelines before the game, and I thought that they might get to play.. :( No Person, Mitchum, Skinner, Abdallah, Barrow, Lane or Hoobler, for sure.

i was very impressed with pittman, he looked pretty good, granted, the O-Line did a great job creating holes, but he just seemed to hit the open spots without hesitation, could have something special there....

Per the official participation report the following true Frosh played:

Nick Patterson
Lyons
Freeman
Welch
Ginn
Terry
Pittman
Gholston

I was surprised to see Welch and Gholston on that list and flabbergasted to see Terry and Patterson (for no reason other than expectations created by the recruiting services).

Notably absent from that list were the names Coleman and Frost. Did I miss some injuries?

FWIW - two redshirt Freshman walk-ons also played (Matt Johnons and Trevor Robinson).

Not sure what Coleman you mean -- RJ isn't a true freshman. If you mean Mitchum or Person, I think they just aren't ready.

Frost is banged up, I believe. He was the #2 TE until he went down.

Savante - my bad for mixing mention of upper classmen in a thread about Frosh. I was referring to RJ who I hoped would be getting some reps by now. Didn't know Frost was hurting - thanks for the info.

I know a lot of times the participation reports are a little screwed up. Did anybody see Patterson out there? Maybe on the last kickoff?

They were wrong again. In the report Ohio State sent to the NCAA listing all the frosh who played, Patterson was not on the list. Ginn, Nicol, Terry, Gholston, Pittman, Lyons and Freeman played.

No worries, and anytime on the info. :) I have an inside so sometimes they give me a heads up about guys who are banged up.

Hmm.. I'm like 99.9% positive I saw Welch out there. I remember being curious about that as I figured he would redshirt. But I'm fairly sure I saw him.
